Hopefully we will hang fire there and instead of filling squad places get ourselves to a position to keep options open. If we bring in too many too quickly we overload numbers in the squad and become easy pickings for clubs taking a player away from us on less favourable terms to ourselves.

Agents have access to all this sort of stuff on players and there are bits and pieces on the internet but it would be nice if the fans were kept in the picture about costs. I know some don’t want to know and some really want details to the nth degree. Some will say it’s none of our business but as we pay the wages through supporting the club it would be nice to know how that SLT is really performing totoo.

Replies seem very complimentary. I know it's league 2, but glad he's found somewhere that suits him.

To be fair he might drop down to league 2 but Rotherham will most likely jump straight back with a bit of smart recruitment, not like they hang around in any division long, so a good season of playing well regularly in a promotion team could be just what he needs to kick his career back on, never did Lundstram, Roofe, Baldock etc any harm.

I think you misunderstood my message. It was more the fact that the recruitment team saw him as the answer to our new Championship concerns.

I’m sure he’ll have a decent career in league one eventually and hope he does as he seems nice enough.

He is a very nice bloke. Just found it hard to achieve the consistency required to consolidate a place in the team, not helped by not getting a chance to play regularly. I think he'll be fine in League One although I can understand why the club might want to move him on, given his wages and the cover we already possess in that position

Doubtless the biggest thing I will miss is Louie Sibley trying to control a bouncing ball, letting it get a few metres away from him, then attempting to circumcise the opposition player who has moved in to intercept.

For someone who we've been generally presuming would leave this window (has been out of favour, sent out on loan twice since his arrival, and given a squad number further away from the first XI than he has had the previous 2 seasons) Louis seems to feature in a fair few of the clubs' media output since the players have returned for pre-season training. Is this a sign that the end may not actually be as in-sight as we have been presuming, or more a matter of putting him in the shop window? Or am I reading too much into it?
