Liverpool

Amazing how many people slate Salford for buying their way in to the football league but celebrate Man City for buying their way to the top.
They have brought in no galacticos. No £80m on Pogba or paying Sanchez £500k per week.
Sure they have spent but probably not an awful lot more that Man U and even Liverpool (granted Allison and Van Dyke were great signings)
Pep brought in young players and virtually every one of them he has improved. Unlike Man U!

They were 7 points clear of Man City in the PL.

Which means Man City were 7 points behind Liverpool in the PL at one point. It’s about the whole season, not just a snap shot.

Neither team fucked it up. Both teams have had an amazing season and City clinched it by 1 point, way ahead Chelsea in 3rd.

Hardly a f**k up.

Thank you for that.
So in reality the Man City spend is highest but Man Uniteds spend is not hugely lower.
If nothing else that shows how Man J have blown millions and it isnt all about money.
Spurs- wow what a performance based on their spend

now my memory is probably not what it was but this 7pts people bang on about was this not due to city playing a cup match whilst liverpool played 2 games prior or either side of?...whatever it was the gap was not when they'd both played the same amount of games so can hardly be described as a fu*k up can it !

No way is it a f@£k up.

Only lost once all season. Third highest points tally ever (behind city’s 98 this year and a 100 a few years back). Man Utd in their prime never achieved 97 points, believe their highest is 92.

Liverpool play great entertaining football. Agree their fans behave appallingly at times though.

Er no.
After 20 games (end of 2018) both teams had played 20 games.
Liverpool had 54 points and Man City had 47.
No team had ever not won the PL being that far ahead at the end of a year.

Thanks for that, just shows as i had in my mind there was another reason for the gap....
