Ex-Staff Liam Manning

Yeah let's get back to somebody like Nick Merry and end up where you will feel more at home.
If there are issues it's nothing to do with the ownership, it's to do with their troops on the ground. Many stupid issues have been created by a lack of clarity and communication.
To move little Oxford after Kassam, Merry, and Eales to a credible forward thinking football club was and still is a huge task. No doubt many fans prefer the homely feel of a league 1 or 2 club but progressing up the league requires so much more than a good team on the grass. You have to move from an organisation that can deal with a few million turnover to one with considerably more. That requires huge changes to do it successfully. You sometimes have to reflect on what you wish for.
Have you not been reading the other posts on this thread? Nobody is saying the problem is the owners, it's the SMT.

As for the rest of your nonsense about Nick Merry, Kassam, and Darryl Eales, and the "little Oxford" reference, you do realise that being unhappy with the people running your club, doesn't mean that you default back to their predecessors.

And who has said they would prefer to be in League One or Two? Absolutely nobody. Stop talking out of you arse.

Yeah the thread is about Liam Manning, so everything is basically out of context. The original thread said ownership not SMT that's what I responded to. If it was in Boardroom and Management I might have been a bit more precise with my wording.
My intent was to say was that some people preferred the environment in L1 and L2 not that they wanted to return there. I cite parking and ticketing as two prime examples.
The reference to Kassam, Merry and even Eales was that if you get the ownership wrong it is the quickest way to go into a tailspin decline.
And if I want to write something what you consider ill considered I will do so and expect your unsavoury comments in response.

Glad we understand each other.

Strong rumours linking him with the Huddersfield vacancy.

Absolutely perfect move for the Manning brand, that.

Massively unachieving squad, will easily make the play-offs with minimal intervention and yet he'll be able to spin it as a roaring success despite getting pumped by Stockport over two-legs.

Should be sufficient to secure a Summer move across the pennines to an established Championship outfit (Preston, maybe) or perhaps somewhere else in Yorkshire (Hull?) if he's worked the local press sufficiently and effectively sold them all in on the power of behaviours.

It's all about easy, incremental, short-term gains that are easily identifiable to the football world - even if it's by spending good money and comes at the detriment of player development (by the time anyone notices, you're out of there).

Keep the wheels rolling and the brand front and centre.

Huddersfield? They've got a good ground, and Marcus McGuane I think? Would probably suit him, for a short while.

Who did they think they would get? A decent appointment for them, play offs with MK Dons and Bristol City (in the league above), kept us up and set up our promotion season. All went wrong at Norwich but Huddersfield are not getting anyone better.

It's a little bit ironic that he left Bristol to be closer to home and has now moved to Huddersfield.
