Totally as expected that, competitive for 75mins but awful once the squad depth is tested.

Look who they brought on compared to us and it’ll be the same week in week out until January.

We’ll be ahead in plenty of games and hopefully be able to cling on to results, but Ramsey’s got nothing on the bench and the risk is we run our senior players into the ground.

We're no different; in fact, I think we're nowhere near as bad as many clubs.

None of us should 'let it go'. For those of us who were rattling buckets back in the 90s this actually means something.
I'm never going to get over-exersized about how the team plays. That's football - good times, bad times. We've had 15 odd years of good times, now we are probably due a bit of a poor period.
But I'm not going to be relaxed about whether our club continues to exist.
And when the top 3 people at the club (owner, 'chairman', CEO) are all awol and either unwilling to answer questions at all, or only willing to pretend to answer them..... then we shouldn't just sit back, chill out and enjoy the ride.
If spades go in the ground at Kidlington the week after FOSB finally fail then I'll be delighted to re-retire from this board. And when that stadium is completed in June '28, I'll doff my 1986 ox head hat to Thohir, even if we're bottom of L2 at the time.
The stadium is all that matters. The embargo is only important inasmuch as it begs the question as to whether the funding for the stadium is in place.

I completely agree with you about the stadium. It is the most important thing right now. I wish more supporters would feel the same. It would just be nice for you to not employ the Doomsday device for once. IMO of course.

Nope, don't agree. Look at how much stick Ugbo got there last season (rightly so, probably).

I agree we need to manage expectations; it's what I've been saying for ages when people have been claiming that we should be pushing for promotion. 20th would be a successful season.

I just don't accept we're any more toxic or vitriolic than any other fanbase; take one look at some of the sh*t coming out of some Premier League fanbases or bigger clubs in the Championship, and you'll suddenly feel very grateful.

It was 2 sloppy goals scored late on, other than that it was a pretty even game. Nothing right now says we will struggle this season or be fighting it out at the top.

We conceded 2 goals, rarely got close to a threatening position and generally played as poorly as last season. Your first statement is irrelevant, unless you only see the world as consisting of extremes. Maybe you do. And maybe not being able to strengthen the squad, and maybe losing some of our best players, does not mean we will still struggle for the next 5 months. Or maybe it does. Shades of grey, my friend.

I am from Oxford, know loads of people from Oxford who support us.

Would you consider Orient a big club? It must be tricky in a city as big as London to carve out a true identity, particularly without any recent Premier League or Championship presence.

Ultimately I do like teams like Orient, Barnet and Dagenham & Redbridge. Proper clubs each representing a small but plucky and proud corner of London.

Better than that Premier League rubbish anyway.

In the FA Cup maybe, but the League Cup has much smaller financial rewards. You effectively need to reach the semi-finals before the big bucks are available

But it’s not a depleted squad, we have 23 + players do we not .

Okay, we have a limited number of key players within the squad which if some of these get injuries (short or long) or tiredness etc, that could have an impact on our overall season e.g. the likes of Brannagan, Brown, Long, Cumming, Currie etc, so playing additional cup games potentially increases those risks!

We have between 11-14 key players, so picking up unnecessary injuries/tiredness to these players would not be ideal, especially for a return of circa £50k if we reached the quarter finals etc!

If the squad had more depth/experience/quality etc, then by all means go for it, so, I’m not so sure it’s worth taking additional risks!
