The problem is that for long periods of this game we have looked almost exactly as we did last year. Overly defensive and pushed back too easily. OK unless we concede and then we have little chance of getting back into it and indeed, fall apart. Of course, there are reasons for that - I hope the owner is watching and deciding that a 150 million quid stadium needs a team more likely to be in the Championship than League 2.

There is absolutely no chance this squad will do anything of note this season - that was the case 4 weeks ago, it’s the case now, too.

Instead of berating players, management, tactics, whatever. Aim your anger at the c***s who got us in this place. Tim Williams. Grant Ferguson. Dusan Bodgdanovic. Ed Waldron. Gary Rowett. Matt Bloomfield.

A squad lacking in quality is not the fault of the players, it’s the fault of the person who signs them in the first place. The players shouldn’t be in this position, and they require all of the support we can possibly give them. Note the players who don’t want to play for the club, and compare them to those who’ll fight for every ball.

We have a truly pathetic fanbase, toxic negativity or toxic positivity - it’s good for no one. Take a step back, assess where we are and realise that 20th in the league would unarguably be a success this season. Delusion of the highest level if you think we waltz into a play off position by default.
