General Letter from Gary Rowett...

Ah yes, the yawn emoji...

Somebody who you consider irrelevant asking difficult questions

I guess you now know how Tim Williams feels
Out of interest are you a friend of Tim’s? A co worker of Tim’s? Tim himself?

Colin

You're an experienced business person, so I am surprised that no-one has explained to you that if you persistently abuse someone on social media it's unlikely that they are going to reply to your email.

it's quite simple to read a post from someone you've blocked. There's a little button that says "show ignored content". I don't know why you would call me a liar for pressing that button, but if you were as irascible as this in the boardroom I think it's probably better for all concerned that you're no longer there.

one of the many failures you lay at Tim Williams door is the"huge over spending that he has presided over."

Are you suggesting that that "over spending" has taken place without consulting with the owners? And do you think there's any relationship between club spending and league position?
Out of interest if you have blocked a person on social media why would you want to to see what they are posting

Just seems a strange thing to do

Why would you block someone anyway, especially on here, we're all Oxford United fans, we may not agree all of the time, but to ignore people with opinions you don't agree with seems moronic to me, have the courage to debate them rather than silence them.

I’ve never blocked anyone on here, but I think it’s pretty understandable that some people come on here to relax, unwind, or otherwise have fun, rather than wanting to test their ‘courage’.

Someone asking questions and holding to account those that are there to safeguard the future of our club? I'd rather 100 Colin's that 100 ostriches...

If things had been left to you, we'd still be managed by Des and be staring down the barrel of Bradford away next season.

Remain irrelevant, Chrome. It's the best place for you.

But the poster in question @chromeyellow is one of the most argumentative posters on here, and posts to get a reaction, which is exactly what he's done with his recent posts on here, where he's trying to goad me into a reaction. The fact I've replied with nothing more than an emoji has obviously not got the argument he was looking for, so he's had another go by criticising the emoji.

That he has said on a number of occasions, after losing the argument, that he's "blocked" me is obviously a lie. He's definitely not someone who comes on here to "relax, unwind, or have fun"!!!

I have but on a very rare basis where the poster is just obtuse and trying to cause arguments and/or is quite abusive to other posters - much easier and relaxing to pop them on 'ignore'.

Of course, no-one else will see this post :)

For me it gives me the option to bypass opinions from people who have proven to me their opinion is not really of my interest. It's pretty rare I do so, but if one of those people is someone who posts frequently, it cuts out a fair bit of noise.

I was asking Colin a question, which he seems reluctant to answer. One of his criticisms of Tim Williams is " the"huge over spending that he has presided over."

I wanted to know if he thinks that the "over spending" has taken place without consulting our owners?

So Des has now become a dirty word with some on the forum? Even if one thinks, as most do, that Rowett was a necessary improvement, it seems a bit off to me to treat Des with disrespect. Gave me one of the best days of my life.
And he was in charge for the play off final!

I tend not to 'ignore' posters on here and just ignore some of their posts. The only time I have done it is to a poster who rather than actually be able to disagree with me and debate the points, they just started personal abuse.

Since you are so keen on people answering your questions, please could you answer mine from yesterday?

I've never met Tim WIlliams and have no relationship whatsoever with him.
What's your reasons for sticking up for a man so strongly that you've never met or have any relationship with?

I liked Des, I liked Robinson while he was here but I could also see there were flaws with them, they made mistakes (Robinson made a lot) and fans questioned some of their decisions on here.

I for one liked the letter Gary Rowett definitely wrote and hand typed for us all to enjoy

(Doing my best here)

I bet you get off on going around and telling kids that Father Christmas doesn’t exist, just let the rest of us have the illusion that Gary cares about us.

And me. Whose post has treated Des with disrespect?

"We'd still be managed by Des", said in such a disparaging way, just felt a tad disrespectful to me.

How do you know how i said it, via an internet forum?

It’s a fact though, had Des been in charge, the direction of travel pointed toward relegation. I’m not sure that’s being disrespectful, rather it’s looking at the results and performances - you know, the very thing that the first team manager should be measured against.

With Des he gave us all one of the best moments in our history by getting that win at Wembley and taking us back up the the Championship. Unfortunately it was a step too far for him as a manager IMO at this current time in his coaching journey but he will come back better and still be a top manager.
It might have felt harsh at the time sacking Des but in the cold light of day, we would have got relegated IMO if he saw the season out.

Fair enough, just prefer not to see the very idea of being managed by him used as an insult. I still view him with more than a deal of affection for what he gave to us, so am perhaps rather sensitive on such matters.

Least if I post on this thread nobody will see it. 😂

The tea boy will be along shortly to "play the man", although I sometimes wish he utilised the ignore facility.
