 Leicester

In fairness, had Sibley lived up to the hype then you would be fuming that we'd only signed him on a 2-year contract.
I partly agree but it was clear quite early on that he wasn’t going to hit the heights here that we had hoped.
What is amazing is that we haven’t tried to sell him to a lower league team like we did with El Mizouni.

Rowett gave the SMT plenty of chances to sack him but they kept holding on. They did the same with Robinson.

While he is part of the reason we went down, I do blame the SMT the most for it. Not even for last summer’s shambles but from the first transfer window in the summer we got promoted. You only have to look at Sibley still being under contract to see our failures from that summer.
Well yes but that isn’t overly generous of Rowett with a £500k payoff waiting for him. It’s not like he was looking to clear his desk with no idea how he was going to feed his family.

I completely agree with your first line, but while you are under contact as head coach, you don't throw your toys out of the pram at the expense of our club.

What is there to say we haven't? It takes more than just finding a willing purchaser, the deal has to work for Sibley as well. No idea what money he is on here, but I expect it will be more than what most L1 clubs would be willing to pay.

He was only appointed until the end of last season..............

They either stick with him as a competent League 1 manager or get "A N Other" in.

Still they`ve got a local derby or two next season.... Notts County, Mansfield, Burton etc. :)

It is certainly on the horizon, they borrowed against their parachute payments IIRC....... and their income has only been heading one way.
Are they trying to sell their training ground and/or the stadium?

Trying to sell both they`ve got something like £270 million to cover.

Supposed to be at the "early stage with a property consortium".

Probably just shifting it from one spreadsheet to another to reduce the deficit at the other end.....

Just as with Chelsea having "sold" their Women's team essentially to themselves to balance the books. Cheeky fuckers.

Presumably, as recent offenders, the authorities will be watching them very closely...

That sort of thing is now banned in the Premier League but I'm not sure it is in the EFL yet.

Well.... I guess that depends on which authorities and which rules apply to which accounting periods!

I know the EPL is a different rule set but I`m uncertain about the differences, and enforcement therof, between the Championship and League One.

The recent confusion with Leicester has been penalising them for EFL rule breeches while in the EPL and/or vice versa...

Anything they try now will be EFL domain only and may or may not be dependent on how keen they are to hold them to account/punish them previous shenanigans

Being reported locally about the £50 million loan from Macquarie being secured against their PL parachute payments until 2028........... sadly its behind the local rags pay wall.

Of course the whole idea of those pesky financial regulations tends to clear like fog in Spring when you have enough £££`s on a promise.......

Was reported on the price of football podcast some months ago that they was borrowing against future parachute payments they are in the ship.
