Leicester have lost their appeal. But didn't the Premier League also put in an appeal saying the sanction was too lenient?

The PL appeal has also been dismissed:

"The Appeal Board also dismissed a challenge by the Premier League, which was limited to the Commission’s decision not to increase the sanction on the club as a result of its breach of the League’s rules regarding the late submission of its Annual Accounts."

not normally. that was in the days before the expedited appeals process when it wasn't done within days meaning clubs could appeal and have a player appear in an important match they would otherwise have been suspended for.
 
The lack of extra punishment is all part of PRem EFL getting this little issue tidied away.
As the EFL said last night the matter is now concluded
 
I don't think the prem can criticise the EFL about this case, compared to the Man City case its been handled quickly. Mad that whole cases have occurred and been dealt with inside of a small amount of the time that one has been some strange sort of limbo.

I guess you feel the same about those higher up who let him down last summer and also played a massive part in our relegation?

Rowett gave the SMT plenty of chances to sack him but they kept holding on. They did the same with Robinson.

While he is part of the reason we went down, I do blame the SMT the most for it. Not even for last summer’s shambles but from the first transfer window in the summer we got promoted. You only have to look at Sibley still being under contract to see our failures from that summer.

In fairness, had Sibley lived up to the hype then you would be fuming that we'd only signed him on a 2-year contract.
