Matches Leeds Home - kick off moved

I know it’s not at the forefront of most Us fans’ minds but this is absolutely sh1te for the Leeds fans travelling down. How on earth can they get home by train or even face a long car journey at night?

Not to mention the huge TVP policing overtime costs on a bank holiday, which we’ll incur.

Yet another example of Sky ruining the game for normal supporters.

Interesting to see how much sway Sky have. We’ve had pretty low key games moved to lunchtime kickoff by TVP.
Leeds fans get a day of drinking in Oxford before the game and TVP have apparently ok’d that.

It isn't that hard for a car journey. I've driven Sunderland/Newcastle games, there and back for evening games. Long distance night games have been around for a long time.

Trains will likely be a problem as you say though.

Long weekend as well so not like they will be getting up for work the next day.
It knocked our away take to Norwich on a Friday night didn't it? However, it won't knock the Leeds away following though.

They will be in the city centre by lunch time and marching on together towards the K*ssam by 6.

Biggest fanbase in the league into the smallest away end.

At the away game I don’t think I had even put my bag on the ground in the queue to check into my hotel before a Leeds fan told me they had ten thousand in the London supporters club, so maybe they won’t have far to travel.

A lot will use private coaches as well, the amount their games get moved public transport isn’t going to work.

Police costs won't be any more for an 8pm kick off than a 3pm kick off. And if a Leeds fan is unable to make it because of the times then there are thousands more who will happily take their place.

I have very little sympathy for Leeds, especially as it's because of them that the times have changed.

That’s a pretty uncharitable view.
Are you suggesting ALL Leeds fans should be seen in the same (negative) light?
Can’t make it because the time changed? Tough!!
Blimey.
How many away matches have you planned to go to, then been thwarted?

The game time has changed BECAUSE it's Leeds.

I have far more sympathy for our own fans who may have to change their plans as a result that 1500 fans who will easily be able to pass their tickets on if the can no longer go.

Is this game likely to be on ITV1 also? I've noticed there have been a few which have been dual-broadcasted this year including Middlesbrough v Sunderland, Leeds v Sheff Wed and Portsmouth v Leeds. Seems those games had very limited advertising so maybe ITV made a late decision. I also believe they have a limited number of slots rather than pre-determined fixtures so it could be a possibility.

I think they'll enjoy our fine city's hostelries! Especially if the weather is as it was today.

Personally I can’t wait , it’s going to be a lively afternoon/ evening on and off the pitch , bring it on I say , proper atmosphere

Doubtful that Sky would share .
Also
That’s the slot for Coronation Street

Sky have shared all the games ITV have showcased this year and Corrie is usually back-seated for sports these days. It’s a possibility but it may not be decided until later.

On the contrary, police bank holiday rates, already at a premium for daytime work, rise 15% after 7pm and 25% after 10pm. The TVP bill for covering this game, FIOs on the train down and back plus the inevitable custody charges will be huge. It’s a good job our owners have deep pockets.

But I agree that Sky have made it a premium game cos it’s Leeds. Still Us who pick up the policing bill though.

"The inevitable custody charges"? Get a grip.

How many arrests this season? How much is the average bill for policing games?
