I've missed the last couple of pages on this thread with everything else that's been happening so apologise.
The situation regarding Leeds tickets first came to light on Monday 2nd December I believe, and OUSP made contact with the club straight away. We have a communication strategy that means that the Chair or Secretary will usually first contact the Supporters Liaison Officer as the first point of contact, or go to the head of the relevant department where appropriate, in this case Lee Barton (ticketing), Adam Benson (Marketing) and Ryan Maher (Media/Comms). I was not directly involved in these conversations in an OUSP capacity, but my understanding is that all were spoken to prior to the statement being produced by OUSP on 6th December.
In a personal capacity and on behalf of friends who have missed out on tickets, I also contacted Lee Barton. Initially I was hopeful that there may have been an opportunity to revisit the allocation, and I believe this coincided with the club requesting an increased allocation, but not the full 3000. It then became evident that there would be no further allocation.
I would ask anyone to read any of my previous posts on this thread to determine whether they think that I am a mouthpiece for the club? I have stated on numerous occasions that I believe that they made the wrong decision and should have had more confidence in our fanbase to sell out the away end. I also think that communication has been awful, and whilst I understand the concerns raised about OUSP and OxVox releasing statements before/instead of the club, we also have a duty to share what information we have obtained.
There was a meeting of OUSP on Monday night with several members of OxVox in attendance. Whilst not looking specifically at the Leeds situation it was helpful to look at the issues we are individually working on and those where there is joint working. It was really positive and made me realise that there are a number of people all working hard on behalf of supporters now and for the future.
There seems to be more desire to cause divisions from some on here than is experienced between both supporter groups and many of those that I speak to. You can not please everyone and I appreciate there will always be those who are against the idea of a Supporters Panel, and that is their choice. But with so many things happening on and off the pitch at the moment, I think that it is more important than ever to stick together and work with the club, including challenging it where appropriate, for the benefit of all.
