Yup, particularly given the the bunch of unprincipled, talentless grifters in the government and the very poor opposition.

It's a shame that the passing of a real public servant will go largely unnoticed given the current fixation.
 
When she was prisons minister she wanted to know what conditions were like for women prisoners so got locked up in Holloway for 24 hours (properly - full "pretend" prostitution charge and processing, no-one at the prison knew who she was).
 
I’ve seen both Prince Phillip and Shirley Williams speak live and both were engaging. SW definitely wins on the fire-in-the-belly stakes. Very charismatic speaker.
 
Will Parliament be asked to congregate to provide a day's recognition of her achievements? Given she was a pioneer in the political field, this would be appropriate.
 
Another of a generation gone, spoke with eloquence, realism and a hefty dose of humour. RIP.
