Ex-Staff Karl Robinson

Have you never made mistakes then and learnt from them? As I said previously, he sounds like the Robinson that we had when we were at our best under him. He has clearly learnt from his mistakes, rebuilt his life and is in a much better place. For that I give him credit as I know, from personal experience it isn’t easy to be rock bottom and then rebuild your life again.

Rock bottom? He was a professional football manager that repeatedly made bad decisions, and subsequently got the sack and a very healthy pay off!

Try telling people that have nothing or are homeless that Karl hit ‘rock bottom’.

I’m just not having the sob story. It’s a crock of shite. You reap what you sow.

As for never feeling like we’d get promoted under him. Never mind Wembley, I walked away from Shrewsbury after we beat them, just before Covid and thought we were going to get promoted automatically that year. To his credit, the football was scintillating in that spell.

Not to mention that he instigated his own personal problems.

No particular disdain for the guy, but let’s not rewrite history either.

The bloke has never been a nice bloke.
He thinks if he opens his mouth, everyone will and should hang on to whatever he churns out.
Was over the top and obviously trying to embellish and clean a slate, with players he had problems with, and who’d proved him wrong elsewhere..
Have to say, he has always been a good coach, and can talk a good game.

Thought he was good value as co-commentator, a step up from most as he was able to explain why things were happening rather than just what had happened.

He recognised our safety first, stay in the game approach that Rowett had brought in.

One match as co-comms was probably enough though.

800th game as manager yesterday apparently.
And a win at Sw*****.
What percentage of those were with us?

That win takes his Salford equal on points with the scum, though they are quite behind on goal difference. Still, plenty of time to nip ahead of them in the promotion race. Come on Karl, keep the scum down!

~34%. Wiki says he played for Swindon as a kid. Didn't know that.
