Ex-Staff Karl Robinson

Actions speak louder than cheap words.

Few buzz words and people think his conduct the last 12 months at Oxford was acceptable. It was miles off it and the only reason he got away with it is because we have a p**s poor SMT.

To admit your faults in front of a public audience shows integrity and I do feel his behaviour has improved when I've watched the Salford documentary.

He has self awareness, albeit would have been nice to see it when he was our manager.

Have you never made mistakes then and learnt from them? As I said previously, he sounds like the Robinson that we had when we were at our best under him. He has clearly learnt from his mistakes, rebuilt his life and is in a much better place. For that I give him credit as I know, from personal experience it isn’t easy to be rock bottom and then rebuild your life again.

Became incredibly lazy and basically stole a wage for the final 18 months he was here.

Told anyone who was willing to listen in the pubs of Marston he wouldn’t quit and was waiting to be paid off.

The off field stuff with the women’s team brought the club into disrepute in my view.

Apart from that, what a guy!

Was that on his fairly frequent toilet visits?

Was that the same time he was crying out for support from the club to help him with his struggles but the nothing was forthcoming?

I don't think anyone's suggesting that MB should be sacked and replaced with KR, or that things didn't go badly wrong in the last year of KR's time as manager. But it was quite interesting to hear an ex-manager's comments during the game on Radio Oxford.
This. Although if Sir Karl was to come back then I’d welcome him back with open arms as I hold him in such high esteem.

Thought Mark Harris is a great player!! Maybe that was at League One level!
He wanted Harris to play along side Matty Taylor, given how many years ago it was then I’d say Harris would have been a good player for Oxford back then in a Robinson a system. On the plus side, he may now want to take Harris to Salford!

That whole Bobby Chariot breakdown phase was a bit much. I did have sympathy for him at the time because it was clear the wheels were off and careering down the road, but a football manager job isn't one where there's any slack.

Really good listening to him on radio tonight and wish this team could half his attacking intent as wed be much better off for it.

People moaning like hell at how bad we are on here throughout the game and then listening to how Robinson would want us to play i think alot of our fans would enjoy that football again,

Which is all very well against markedly inferior opposition.

Well id like our team to actually look like it can score from open play alot more than it does, lets hope Bloomfield can sort that out.

In some ways he's quite fun to listen to because he is a bit emotionally turbulent. You are just waiting for him to be a bit too honest/excitable/clumsy. For instance his comment about Grant Ferguson having never worked in football and not knowing anything about it when he joined OUFC. The guy was on the board at Inter Milan which is in contrast to his comments.

He also loves saying stuff for effect as if it's a bombshell that everyone should be in awe of. I think it works really well when the wider football community don't have to listen to it every week and they hold him in high regard for it. For a club like we were when he first joined and in turmoil off the pitch it worked well because there was such little communication off the pitch, BBC Radio Oxford had nobody else to interview so they just stuck a microphone in front of him at every opportunity and he'd just speak. I'm not knocking him because he was the antidote to our issues at the time.

Whether you like him/don't like him, we played brilliant stuff against lesser opposition and it was great watching my team win and score goals! Sadly we came up against better opposition and routinely struggled to win games. I never felt like we were ever going to be promoted with him and his approach at times meant we were always likely to be held back.

Didn't listen to him on RadOx last night but was thinking about robbo while watching the pens. Five years since we last made the fourth round and couldn't help getting nostalgic about that second half destruction of Hartlepool then two fantastic games against Newcastle after. That period was probably the high water mark of his reign here. Sure was fun. Shame how it ended.

You could tell the affection he had for that time and for players like Easty and Mous - ‘he’s doing well, at that team I don’t like’.
