Ex-Staff Karl Robinson

Let's get this straight. Robinson was (is) a mysogonistic, bullying, egotistical, car crash of a character. He talked his way into an extraordinary contract with OUFC which gave him, pretty much, carte blanche to do whatever he wanted. He thought it amusing to take the p**s out of supporters. He was, at the end, completely out of touch with reality.
Almost as bad were the actions of the board in allowing him to continue in his role as head coach when he should have, at the very least, been placed on gardening leave.

If he has now found some mental stability, good, and I wish him well but, no employer should imagine for a moment that he is fit to be given the sort of control OUFC gave him.

I kind of understood his comments because he turned us into a side that should be expected to make the play offs every season but he failed to get us over that line and actually get us promoted.
I think he will manage to finally get Salford up as he is a good lower league manager but league 1 is his ceiling.
Let’s hope for a massive Salford win today!

He did a great job until the last season when he was obviously struggling with outside influences. But that's where you should build a team around you ,we really played some great stuff at times and were a avery good league 1 team ,let's be honest we were unlucky at Wembley against Wycombe and were penalised with a shocking goal by them ,total Gareth Ainsworth game style. But we never learnt from that,or he didn't. But let's be honest he's done a better job than Appleton whos never replicated his Oxford success, I hope he goes up but you can see somebody taking him to league 1 before that might happen.

Pure coincidence but Mrs L and self were guests in the restaurant recently when KR was the guest of the day. I managed to to hold my tongue for the entire 10 minutes odd that he was present. (Mrs L did kick me under the table at one point) As he was interviewed by Rosy he almost came across as lucid, certainly he was reasonably rational even to the point of saying that he had loved his time at Oxford and still looks for our result first.
All the time he spoke though, I could clearly recall his attitude the last time I met him. That was the infamous Friday afternoon meeting with Williams and several forumites along with supporters and others. He took a dislike to me and was overheard later (in the Victoria Arms) proclaiming that I had no sense of humour.

Until he shows contrition for all that he did while at Oxford, I will have no time for him. Do I think that, despite his character, that he could be a good head coach for us? Absolutely not. He's at his level, league 2.

As outstanding as the attacking football was at times, the fact this doesn't even scratch the surface with some of his behaviour towards specific players at times really highlights what a horrible prick he could be. Tigers blind trust in him and that terrible mega-contract really could have ended much, much worse. Sacked 18 months too late.

You once went to a meeting on a Friday afternoon at the training ground? Why haven’t you mentioned it before?

Salford television city (3) old league division 4 Sw*ndon (2).

It makes our championship game at Bristol City tomorrow sound pretty much up there in the higher echelons of English football.

Love this to continue.

COYY'S.

I loved a lot of the football we played under KR, first (full) and last (partial) seasons excluded. But he was always a bit of an embarrassment otherwise. Those pitch side interviews where he'd go through the team were often semi coherent rambles. His pursuit of Ched Evans made my stomach churn. A lot of neutrals I knew couldn't abide him either. But yeah some amazing matches to remember for sure.

As if we need to go around it all again, I agree. The football was always entertaining and we had some terrific moments with him.

Like you can appreciate the art without having to like the artist, the same can apply to KR and his football style.

Anyways, good on him to get one over on Swindon today.

Take my hat off to him. Great result to go top. Hope they go up. Two of our old players in there, Garbutt and Woodburn
