Reading some of the stories, we had similar experiences!

over 2 weeks past due date and sat in a room in the post natal ward!

I was born there in 1976 and one of my children with no problems but one of my wife's colleagues has had an absolutely awful time in the last few months

Yes seems to be a more recent issue.

Both my sons were born at the JR, the youngest one in early 2022 where there was still fear of COVID spreading. I cannot fault the facilities or the staff we encountered through the entire pregnancy.

Heartbreaking stories on CH4 news.

Shocking secret recordings at a support group for families who suffered bad treatments were made.

My four boys were all born at the JR the first one was a nightmare we had lots of issues but the other three I can't fault the care my wife received and the professionalism of the staff . My fourth son was delivered via C section and the staff were amazing

My eldest was born at the JR and unfortunately we did have quite a few issues, although all ultimately fine.

The second was born at the Horton and it was a much nicer “experience”. All births are different of course, ours certainly were, but the level of care and attention was markedly different.

We almost lost our second born, as many of you know, he had to have life saving surgery on day 2, the surgery, I do not fault on bit with, the surgeon was fantastic! But it was before this that was worrying.

Wife has a failed epidural, sat on the operating theater with a blood pressure so high, I thought she was going to die! The midwife had to shout and ask what are they going to do as they were all just standing around waiting for another anesthetist to come and put her under general.

Then post birth, vital checks were not made 2 days after which led to (luckily) a midwife doing a through check which resulted in needing emg surgery.

We even had worries with son #1 due to her going over her 2 week due date.

My wife also had a horrible experience with both of our children. With our first child they kept forgetting to get her pain medication and claiming she couldnt be in as much pain as she was because other women dont have that much pain even though they were not giving her the medication. We had to force them to have the consultant come to review her, who was brilliant and had a go at the nurses for refusing her the medicine she needed, the main nurse avoided us after that but she was given her medicine ontime after that.

With our second child my wife had to have a c-section as the baby was the wrong way around and couldnt be rotated. In recovery afterwards they kept getting her mixed up with a different mother on the ward, claiming she had not been walking around, which she had been, and saying she had already had medicines that she hadnt been given. They also got her meals mixed up with the other mother a few times too. We had to argue with them that they were mixing up the information on the mothers and potentially giving or witholding medicine from the mothers and possibly mixing up the babies care too.
