He might do if they hit L1 and he takes a 20-30% pay cut…I think it's pretty evident that he went for improved wages.
He probably doesn't mind the sacrifice that much

We are still trying to get over Midson leaving (should never had let him go), we have got a few more years of debating the contract Murphy turned down and the one he took at Pompey. He's history, move on.
Speak for yourself, I'm still trying to process selling Keith Cassells. We are still trying to get over Midson leaving
I honestly don’t think he will give a toss. He spent the summer hawking himself to the highest bidder, it was never going to be a football decision. It’s another question whether he’s happy about it though…
He’s traded in a starring role in a side that puts wingers at the forefront of the game plan to now be ‘doing a job’ for his team mates struggling to keep their heads above water at this level.
I suspect a big part of him wishes he’d stayed put but hindsight is a hell of a thing.
Do we pine for him? Both have moved on IMO.I honestly don’t think he will give a toss. He spent the summer hawking himself to the highest bidder, it was never going to be a football decision.
I think we pine for him more than he does for us.
Not sure it is a sacrifice. If he in the team, I suspect he will be OK with it.I think it's pretty evident that he went for improved wages.

I am.interested in all of his previous players. Not unreasonable I would have thought. He's history, move on.
Remember when he played left back for us against Northampton in the Pizza Cup so it can't be totally new for him
Pretty sure its been confirmed by ITK's on here he took less money to go to Pompey, just on a longer deal we were willing to offer.I think it's pretty evident that he went for improved wages.

Yeah, I don't think he is the mercenary that many on here maybe think he is. Wembley ranks in my top days of football and football is a big part of my life. I'm grateful to the lad (and the others)Pretty sure its been confirmed by ITK's on here he took less money to go to Pompey, just on a longer deal we were willing to offer.
I'm not sure that's true. From what I've heard it was a very similar basic salary but with more bonuses, plus the extra year.Pretty sure its been confirmed by ITK's on here he took less money to go to Pompey, just on a longer deal we were willing to offer.
Why would we want a player who is out of form on loan?Just have a sneaky suspicion that we haven't seen the last of Josh Murphy in an Oxford shirt...
A few more bad games, and if he becomes some kind of a scapegoat, could see him out of the picture by Christmas, and available a cheeky loan in January. Obviously lots of things need to happen for that scenario to occur, and not least Oxford and Portsmouth to continue to operate at different ends of the table.
I’m no expert on Pompey but I can’t get my head around the balance of their team at all. Was surprised how sluggish Pack looked at Championship level against us, but I suppose that makes sense with some of the data Des shared on the Dub the other day. Their full backs look League One level to me as well. Lane and Sorensen playing 10.Why would we want a player who is out of form on loan?
It was said when he left that it would be a surprise if Pompey got the Josh Murphy which we had at the back end of last season. In the new year we will have Placheta and Phillips back hopefully along with Dembele, Tyler, Ebiowei and Dale. We wont need an out of form Josh Murphy.
I still think Des would get more out of him.would have him back tomorrow.I’m no expert on Pompey but I can’t get my head around the balance of their team at all. It always seems to me that Murphy is the last piece of the jigsaw once you’ve got a really solid structure in place around him, so that he can just go and do his thing. He’s not a Tyler who’s going to give you an extra midfielder at times and a massive work rate.
Been surprised to see the Pompey comments on Murphy overnight, but suspect a lot of it is down to where they are and the fanfare he came with. Team doesn’t look set up to get the best out of him.
I'd rather we didn't risk it.I still think Des would get more out of him.would have him back tomorrow.
