Ex-Player Josh Murphy

If you don't want an open discussion then that's your issue. You talk about context but have entirely made up this disrespect for Jim Smith that was completely out of context with the post you're referencing!

I think petulance is closer to your home than mine.
You really are a petulant prick. I always felt you got a hard time unfairly on here - but clearly not as you had a chance here to apologise and show some humility for your rudeness, but being who you are, you couldn’t even do that (made one more enemy). Next time i communicate with you will be either in person or not at all. Offer is there!

I'm genuinely confused. What do you want me to apologise for? I think that you have over reacted to any reference to Jim Smith, and missed the reason why he was mentioned in the context of people moving on.

You then call me names and offer to meet in person?!

I honestly don't understand why you're escalating something beyond a fairly normal discussion.

Are we going to have our first Yellows Forum in-person fight??

Have a word with yourself

No one has suggested that Murphy should be seen as a club legend. But my understanding of the original post was that football relationships are often very brief and we should remember their time with us rather than the fact that they leave (as long as they don't absolutely take the P**s when leaving or after the event!)
Scotch - I think you’re explained it better than I did.

s**t. I kicked this off and I’m sorry. I would in no way compare Josh Murphy to Jim Smith (quick aside - my wife is a journalist and worked for the Derby Evening Telegraph. She met Jim Smith several times and loves the man).

All I’m saying is that Josh Murphy helped us (in a big way) get to where we are now and I hope that we give him a big love when he comes back. He is not Des or Brannagan and definitely no Beano but he is a good man (and not a mercenary for fucks sake). That’s all I said.

What a time to be an Oxford fan. Every time I go out with my daughter and she wears an Oxford top someone shouts out “yellows”. Everyone is buzzing. Let’s have togetherness. Up the f*****g yellows and hats off to @Scotchegg who I think is one of the best of us.

I’ve noticed in life in general people get really funny about ‘comparing’ things, or people, as if it means that you’re immediately saying ‘these two things are the same!’ or ‘these two things are just as good/bad as eachother! I don’t really understand it myself. You can compare elements of something truly terrible and something absolutely amazing, and the terrible thing might even come out better than the amazing thing in that one element - it doesn’t mean it’s better overall.

But, it seems to be a very common thing nowadays so maybe I’m in the wrong here.

Yes good point, some people just stop thinking and get enraged.

I’m actually a step ahead of all of all of you - I’ve already moved on from Goodrham and Des, the former will get an expensive move one day and the latter will be sacked or will move on. They mean nothing to me. Is there no loyalty nowadays?
