Clinks loved that Magnum nickname! He was one of the first "celebrity" physios. Until then they were mostly faceless old men with a sponge (the great Mr Fish excepted), who you couldn't even name.

As someone who started watching Oxford in the nineties, whenever I picture a physio, it will always be John Clinkard.

I found out later that he looked after my dad when he badly damaged his knee - he would always say what a good sort he was.

When I received the sad news that John had passed away at 1am this morning , to say I was gutted is an understatement . He was one of life's gentlemen , always good for. a joke and so professional in his day job. I will miss him terribly. Love to Steph and the girls
