Solid time at the club. For someone who we signed as a free-agent outside of a transfer window on a one-month contract as emergency injury cover, he really worked his way into playing regularly, and being a big part of that promotion-winning side. Played reliably well at Wembley.

Good luck wherever you go next Joe!

Along with the piece from Josh McEachran, I'm really liking the way that the club is recognising those who are leaving and the contributions they've made.

The Championship is the most brutal league and difficult decisions are needed. But there's a way of doing this and I'm proud that as a club we seem to do the right things by our players.

A polite thanks and goodbye is enough. What next, departure videos ? McEachran played 35 times for us, a lot as sub, and was probably subbed in most of those he started. At this rate Cam will have a statue and the new stadium named after him. To be fair, heโ€™s one player worthy of a monumental goodbye when that day does come.

Feels like the club got the message from fans on how it communicated Desโ€™ departure and has learned lessons.

Good to see them making these efforts with recognising key figures when they move on from the club.

The club is basically its people at heart - whether thatโ€™s fans or staff - so right that we remember folk after they move on.

Sometimes you make McIvor look positively cheerful!

Itโ€™s no wonder a lot of footballers have such inflated egos. Itโ€™s a job, a nice job. You might but Iโ€™m certainly not going to start worshipping bit part players for playing 30 games (and missing 60 odd) in a 2 year spell.

There's a difference between worshipping players, and having a final send off to a player who has been a key contributor over the last 18 months

I wonder if this kind of thing also helps sway people to joining us- a sense that you're genuinely valued here.

The negativity doesn't deserve further comment.

Joe Bennett has been a class act on and off the pitch. He always seemed to have so much time and composure and I can't recall him ever being found out of position. He read the game so well that even when faced with blistering pace, he managed to still be one step ahead. He was no Greg Leigh, but his contributions in the final third shouldn't be underestimated and he put in a number of great balls from the left in the second half of last season in particular.

And off the pitch, he was a really nice guy. Always giving time to fans and happy to chat to everyone. The "no dickheads" approach to our recruitment has certainly paid off!

I hope that he stays fit enough to get a few more years under his belt. He could literally walk through league 1 and I'm sure that there will be plenty of clubs looking to take him on only a couple of years after his career looked finished.

And f*ck it, let's get a statue of him just to p**s off Dick!

I assume youโ€™re not looking forward to the Max Woltman leaving video?!

More medals than Uncle Albert!!

I'd love to see a compilation of Max celebrating successes with Oxford and Liverpool despite barely getting a game for either club. And maybe a statue with him in a leg brace riding the Ox!

Full on shithousery from the media team!

Made me laugh the other day when I was looking at the 2023/24 season review book and noticed that Des isnโ€™t in that particular photo but Max very much is, front and centre!!

Fair play to the lad!
