Not sure he has ‘undeniable pace’ - he lost a foot race with their sizeable centre back yesterday when he could have been clean through.Maybe when brought on. Yesterday was classic Siriki "one touch too many" Dembele, both when going forward and not achieving anything, and at the back trying to play his way out of trouble and losing the ball.
He need has undeniable pace and skillful footwork, but he needs to be aware of when and when not to play/hold on to/release the ball. Ramsey will have some work to do to train that habit out of a player who's 3 weeks month shy of 30.
Staying on thread - really looking forward to seeing what JJW can do in this league.
As Jerome (or possibly Nathan) said in the commentary, the defender got there first as his stride was much longer, given his legs were as long as Dembele is tall. Not sure he has ‘undeniable pace’ - he lost a foot race with their sizeable centre back yesterday when he could have been clean through.
Rather proves my point. As Jerome (or possibly Nathan) said in the commentary, the defender got there first as his stride was much longer, given his legs were as long as Dembele is tall.
It is possible to be both tall and fast. Just because he was outpaced by a man twice his height, doesn't mean Dembele lacks for pace - I'd say he's faster than the average L1 player. However, I just can't see him being overly effective in this league unless he learns to lift his head up and read the game, rather than just endlessly dribble himself into trouble.Rather proves my point.
I’d say that Dembele is nippy and nimble over a short distance but not fast in a sprint - he’s a very different player from say Josh Murphy. It is possible to be both tall and fast. No.Zero-Gravity treadmill sessions then, we won't be seeing him back in the short term for sure then. Was there any updates on his fitness at the forum yesterday?
Depending on what percentage of gravity he's programmed on.Zero-Gravity treadmill sessions, we won't be seeing him back in the short term for sure then. Was there any updates on his fitness at the forum yesterday?
True, although I'd suggest if he was close to a comeback he'd be on 100% gravity on the treadmill - which are less impactful on joints than the ground is anyway.Depending on what percentage of gravity he's programmed on.
Just as long as our club doesn't start going deeper underground. They have zero gravity machines now? What a time to be alive
Hes gonna be moving around the pitch like jamiroquai

Isn't he a Manc? More Liam Gallagher energy!Half of me expected Cam Bran to snap that pool cue across the back of someone's head - pure Scouse energy.
He's not a scouser. From Manchester.Half of me expected Cam Bran to snap that pool cue across the back of someone's head - pure Scouse energy.
Strange, I always had him down as having a St Helens accent - certainly doesn't sound like he's from Salford!!He's not a scouser. From Manchester.
I genuinely just associate him with oxford so much now that whenever i hear him talk i assume the only reason he doesnt sound local must be because he was dropped on his head (or face tbf) as a babyStrange, I always had him down as having a St Helens accent - certainly doesn't sound like he's from Salford!!
The fact you can tell a difference between a St Helens and Salford accent is pretty impressive tbf!Strange, I always had him down as having a St Helens accent - certainly doesn't sound like he's from Salford!!

When he plays, we want plenty of Ws. No Little L’s.
