Current Player Thread Jeon Jin-Woo

Maybe when brought on. Yesterday was classic Siriki "one touch too many" Dembele, both when going forward and not achieving anything, and at the back trying to play his way out of trouble and losing the ball.

He need has undeniable pace and skillful footwork, but he needs to be aware of when and when not to play/hold on to/release the ball. Ramsey will have some work to do to train that habit out of a player who's 3 weeks month shy of 30.

Staying on thread - really looking forward to seeing what JJW can do in this league.
Not sure he has ‘undeniable pace’ - he lost a foot race with their sizeable centre back yesterday when he could have been clean through.

As Jerome (or possibly Nathan) said in the commentary, the defender got there first as his stride was much longer, given his legs were as long as Dembele is tall.

Rather proves my point.

It is possible to be both tall and fast. Just because he was outpaced by a man twice his height, doesn't mean Dembele lacks for pace - I'd say he's faster than the average L1 player. However, I just can't see him being overly effective in this league unless he learns to lift his head up and read the game, rather than just endlessly dribble himself into trouble.

I’d say that Dembele is nippy and nimble over a short distance but not fast in a sprint - he’s a very different player from say Josh Murphy.

With Dembele, you have to play him to a style that suits. He won’t stretch teams like Murphy and mills…you have to smash it in to him quickly and get him turning players around on the half turn.

I was surprised that Sibley started in what I consider to be a perfect position for Dembele..

Depending on what percentage of gravity he's programmed on.
True, although I'd suggest if he was close to a comeback he'd be on 100% gravity on the treadmill - which are less impactful on joints than the ground is anyway.

Think it was originally an end of October scheduled return wasn't it?

I'd love a go on that treadmill.

If anyone has watched many of his tiktok videos it seems out Jin Woo has quite a unique personality! 😅🤣

Strange, I always had him down as having a St Helens accent - certainly doesn't sound like he's from Salford!!
I genuinely just associate him with oxford so much now that whenever i hear him talk i assume the only reason he doesnt sound local must be because he was dropped on his head (or face tbf) as a baby
