If Bloomfield perseveres with 4-3-3 then Harris needs to move on.

The lone, isolated central striker is a thankless task at the best of times, but if you’re low on confidence and you haven’t got the physique and game to play that role then you’re really going to struggle. He needs a no 10 alongside him to have any chance.

As others have said he hasn’t looked the same player since Rodrigues left, they dove-tailed each quite nicely especially in the press.

People scratched their heads when Rowett picked him ahead of Prelec when Lankshear needed to be rotated, but it’s looking like Prelic wasn’t fit and had to be managed. Prelec was then picked to start against Southampton, played most of the game, did well but we haven’t seen him since. It’s looking like all those minutes against Southampton was too much for Prelec.

We all knew Harris wasn't a natural goalscoring striker when we were in League One, so it's was obvious he was gonna really struggle in The Championship!

But I've always been more impressed with his selfless work rate, and he's always shown himself very capable of crossing the ball from wide areas.
With that in mind, I'd be inclined to give him a chance out wide when coming off the bench, and seeing if he can influence games more that way, as he's almost completely ineffective as a central striker at this level, and just gets embroiled in physical battles with opposition CB, rather than contribute in any technical way whatsoever.

I know he's played out wide a couple of times for us, and been poor, but if he was played there more consistently, then maybe he could settle into the role, as I believe he's played out wide a lot for Cardiff at this level?

Otherwise, give him a loan to a league one club, with a view to moving him on in the summer.
Iam suprised we haven't tried him out wide too Iam sure if asked Sparky would do a job for us out there with his pace off the bench It would take the pressure off him being expected to score but also get him into areas where it could happen.

What you are forgetting is that we have recently extended his contract. He is on goodish money here. A League 1 club might want him, he might look at it and then remember he can sit out his contract here because he’s not going to be paid that amount by other clubs for a bang average League I player
This applies to several of our squad not just Sparky

It does, but for harris’s best interest.
Wouldn’t he be better positioned for the Welsh squad, being a regular and maybe scoring elsewhere, must be better than the odd cameo and being berated on here.
You put him in a competitive team, who press and create. He’d be an asset.
We’re just not that team yet, at this standard.

One reason it didn't work at Cardiff was that he was used out wide I hasten to venture

He did it today, he was everything we hoped for
Maybe Bloomfield has helped

Can't we try and sign Davies permanently, I don't think he's put a foot wrong when played. I'd rather Leigh stayed until the end of the season, he was brilliant when he came on today.

Sign Davies, send Krastev home, and we've got one loan place free. Try to find Dembele and Bradshaw moves and find better replacements.

Davies reported to be on £30 k a week until the summer when he is OOC could be a stumbling block.

I think regards to Harris the best thing for him would be to go elsewhere he doesn't look interested when he comes on and offers absolutely nothing
He looked pretty interested today and without him then we don’t win that game.

Without him we wouldn't have been promoted either. I think Harris has given Matt a conundrum after the performance today. I still would love another striker through the door before the window shuts though.

Personally think we could risk having no cover at left back for the rest of the season if we can free up a squad space (and to a lesser extent get a small fee for a player ooc at the end of the season).

If losing a few decent fringe players frees up space for better quality and/or long term investments then that has to be priority.
No chance we can risk no cover at left back. That would be crazy

I mean it would be nice if he could perform in more than 1/10 games, but today was great and now he needs to continue with some consistency.

I have watched his goal back a few times and I do wonder if under GR would he be in the position when he received the ball in the first place ?

GR team was all about keeping shape and 11 players in the box while defending set pieces until it was hoofed up field or ball went out of play. But that goal was more like Des style where we would counter a set piece with pace.

Particularly when Leigh more than showed his value as a squad player today. Whilst you don't want him starting these games, it was great to be able to replace a booked and tiring Currie with someone who is great in the air and had the athleticism to pick up second balls in and around our box. He made a good contribution in getting us over the line.

Don't think you can give anyone who played a significant number of minutes today any less than a 7/10. Brilliant performance.

Currie and Spencer - tireless energy
McDonnell - didn't look like his first start in the Championship
Long, Davies, Brown - pretty rock solid
Peart-Harris - the engine on that boy

Not ITK but it sounds pretty clear from his interview that Harris was on his way out two weeks ago. Not sure what happens now and neither does he.

Harris has now played a crucial part in two of our recent wins (Ipswich and Leicester), not just by scoring a goal in each, but by leading the press from the front for his entire time on the pitch. Yes, he can be limited at this level, but he also has a role to play, and has played it to perfection a couple of times recently.

It’s a team game, and we haven’t been anywhere near an organised team for sometime. So Harris got the blame for poor play and selections,
Help the players with some forward thinking and tactical awareness.
Organise like today, we’ll find the art of fitting in the championship.
The play of final, Norwich first game last season, maybe the odd one or two other games,. It became a bit of a common crisis playing negatively on the Back foot
