If we are going for a striker, I wonder what type it will be?
It’s not as if our current strikers are missing lots of chances, they aren’t,we don’t create chances.
Lankshear has a pretty good goals to chances ratio I would bet. Prelec not so good.
Don’t think Harris or Bradshaw have had many chances either.
So are we looking for a big dominant player who can ruffle up defenders and critically hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play?
Big Kev/ Whitehurst /Kitson type of player
Rather than a Matty Taylor/ Jemsom type of player

I would suggest someone with pace who can run in behind and stretch opposition defences.

Exactly right.

Which is why Ryan Hardie would be perfect - pace, finishing, good age, good experience, affordable, attainable.

Look at the goals he scored at Plymouth. Real 'off the last defender' stuff. Would be perfect for Brannagan/BDK (particularly if McDonnell gives them licence to get forward).

A lack of pace has been our undoing time and time again - there is (Shemmy aside) no outlet to keep the opposition on their toes.

I can only assume the reticence from our fans is because he's not an exotic import - but he is a sure thing at this level, much as Jack Marriott was (and continues to be) when we should have got him in League One (a potential signing that was met with a very similar level of disdain).

Sometimes the most obvious option is, actually, the right one.

Hard agree from me on this. I have recently said that the signings have left me causiously optimistic for the future, but not entirely sure that they are what will pull us away from trouble NOW.

Hardie would represent a player that has in excess of 70 games at the level and has a respectable goal return, considering he has played in unfanciled Championship teams. He'd be a great signing for us and would compliment the business that we have done, so far.

If it carries on KIP will think he has free reign to troll the life out of us all.

Just going to throw it out there that probably 95% of the posters on this forum won't have a clue what this is in relation to, so I don't think it's worth derailing an important thread with healthy discussion for the sake of some point scoring.

My first car was a Renault Clio, btw.

I expect this every time he scores:

Apparently Bolton want to sign him.
