We’ve got 10 home games left and everyone of them is very winnable. But only if we can shake off this problem Rowett had where we only turned up properly against the top teams. Home form is going to be key with the odd win or draw on the road.

Personally I feel it might be just too big an ask, but if we don’t make it we need to make sure we’re pushing at the top next year in league 1. I’m encouraged by who we’re signing and if we don’t get enough points I don’t think it will be through lack of effort in January and the second half of the season. The damage would have been done from the end of last season to now.

Advocating selling Helik is crazy in my h

With Prelec laid up that leaves Bradshaw as striking cover. I'd hope we have someone coming in if Harris goes (which I have no problem with)

Bradshaw didn't even make the squad yesterday so he will be off too.

I know it's early days but it's the first time that I feel the manager and the recruitment team are reading from the same page.

Not sure if this has any legs but I'm hearing Mark Harris could be going to a league one club this window.

Possibly backs up why Bloomfield didn't bring him on yesterday and when interviewed Matt said he thought about bringing on Harris but left Lankshear on as he has a goal in him.

Harris will want game time to try and force himself in to the Wales squad for their upcoming World Cup play off game in March.
It wouldn’t surprise me, I can’t see how we don’t bring in another striking option, for all I like Lankshear and he’s a great finisher, his linking of play needs improvement and that’s the type of striker I’d like to see this window, Sinclair Armstrong would be exactly the type of player I’d want.

You see that is where the sense of disappointment comes in for me. If only we’d have ‘given it a go’ in the summer, I think we’d have been markedly better placed, rather than appearing to be in a pretty desperate state in January.

I still believe we can do it, but goodness me I’m not sure it had to be this difficult.
Nail on the head, the summer ended up being a disaster, and trying to put it right now, but half a season has been lost with resources and quality stretched to the limit. We’re now in serious trouble, yes we can get out of it, but I hope some of the business we’re doing now will also set us up for next season wherever we end up being then.

We need a much stronger and balanced squad for the remainder of this season and next. Serious questions remain over what happened in the summer however, as that has put us in the situation we now find ourselves.

We still need another striker and Centre back in this window to add to the potential other 2 new signings who appear imminent. Hopefully if the remaining signings are perms and we keep them for next season regardless of where we are, we should already be on the front foot, which will make a refreshing change.

Bollox!

I don't deny that we need to upgrade on Vaulks in this window, but his introduction today changed the game, it allowed us to get a proper foothold in the game, and he showed his leadership qualities throughout the 2nd half.

Ok, there was one or two misplaced passes, as there were from everyone and will always be from any midfielder, but overall he passed well, defended well and gave us a much more solid midfield base to build attacks from.

He was very good, and whether it's on the pitch, in training or in the dressing room, in a season where we've lacked leaders, he showed he still has a vital role to play this season.

If you listen to Matt's interview on RO after the game he said De Keersmaeker was playing deeper than Konak in the first half due to Konak only training with the squad for 2 days. Once Vaulks came on for the second half De Keersmaeker played further forward which gave us a better foothold in the game.

I like Vaulks but he just doesn't release the ball quick enough which ultimately plays our players into unnecessary pressure. Helik is another culprit for that mind and possibly with increased coaching they could improve on this.

He was in the SSU yesterday - my son saw him in the concourse, and reported that as ever he had a big friendly grin on his face.

I would have a big friendly grin on my face too if I was being paid good money by the club to sit in the SSU.

I spotted Vaulks leadership influence when we had a free kick in their half. He was stood about 2 yards from Cam, who stood motionless, and it was Vaulks that organised the players and at one point ran to one player to move him.
I think Cam is great at urging players on, along with the odd bollocking, but on field tactics maybe not his thing.

Well then it was a good job we had Vaulks on the bench, to enable such a change at half time!

I also thought it was refreshing to see the manager recognise the need to make a change, and do it at half time, instead of waiting until the 60th minute, when we might've been struggling and behind by then!

But while I agree Vaulks can be a bit blasé with his passing sometimes, and we've seen the problems that can cause, yesterday I thought his passing was a lot better, and more decisive, and one pass in particular, when he latched onto a loose ball and drilled a stunning fist time pass to send Mills on his way was lovely.

I actually think it was one of his very best performances for us, even if it was only for 45mins, he was a major influence on that 2nd half performance from the team.

Curious as to why everyone is calling him Woo? Think his family name is Jeon. Jin-woo is the equivalent of his "first name" in the UK, though obviously the order is reversed in Korea. (I was going to say his "given name", except he changed it, so it's not actually his given name. Confused? I am!)

No different to Son Heung-min

He took Konak off at half time as he was on a yellow card and thought Bristol city would target him to try and get him sent off.

Anyways I think the CDM position becomes an easier task when you have players in front of you who are pressing in packs the opposition and not sitting off . That second half performance was a team willing to work for each other and were actually trying to win a game.

Yes believe so - same in Vietnamese I think as I was always getting what I thought it wrong esp. when my ESOL students seemed to refer to themselves only by surname.

Woo can fit more songs at a guess (from early comments) and it has stuck on here.

Yep. And Vaulks was at the heart of it.

Konak may well have been targeted due to being on a yellow, so Bloomfield turned to Vaulks for his experience.
It also meant, as you say, that BDK was able to play further forward, allowing us to get a better foothold in the game.

So that's two reasons, both stated by the manager, and that you've highlighted, for putting Vaulks on at half time, and in both instances, Vaulks didn't let him down.

It's fine to give credit when it's due you know?

Woo is cheaper when it K-Pop mad son will inevitably want his shirt personalised so I'm hoping Woo sticks!

But I'll call him whatever is on his shirt when he holds it up in the obligatory signing photo.

I see Portsmouth have had a bid for Luke Graham turned down by Dundee. Described as a six figure bid. We were also linked to him.

Is his name pronounced 'gee on' then?

Like Ole, but more for horses?
