I'm going to bite .
These players mostly played lots of matches last season at Championship level with some match winning performances from them.
Maybe not consistant enough to be high end Championship players but defo good enough to be in a Championship teams squad .
Tyler ,who you particulary want to fail for reasons unknown , has the potential to be top end and to note Swansea and Ipswich thought him so poor that they set out to kick lumps out of him at every opportunity as identified as a danger to them , in the Championship no less !!

See my post up the thread where I asked which, of eleven supposed Championship quality players, get a sideways move. I say none. Tyler is coming up 23 with about 150 games to his name when is he going to become this great talent ? People treat him like he’s a kid. There’s a whole load of 23 year olds - or younger - with a 100 games plus in the Championship who have already arrived at this level. He had a great first month in the Championship but has largely disappeared since. I’m afraid consistency is a big part of being a footballer, that’s what separates the mediocre from the good and the good from the great.

Absolutely its been a disaster of a season for Tyler he needs to finish this year well or it might be time to move him on ,the championship really is a different league and we haven't got enough players at the standard we need

Really? Sibley, Phillips, Harris, Dembele, Bradshaw, Goodwin, Kioso to name a few that have worked out well

Clearly been a significant improvement and distinction between Summer 2024 and (Bradshaw aside) January 2025 onward.

I suspect Mitchell > Waldron.

Unfortunately, given our league position he is a luxury in our side. With the new signings already in the building and the rumours of others, I don't think he will get the minutes he needs. I wouldn't surprised if he's loaned out to top end league one

If you’re trying to sign Championship players on frees or loans then you’d have to be some kind of magician to have a good strike rate.

Cumming, Currie, Spencer, BDK and Mills show that they’re actually pretty good at identifying young unproven talent for not much money who belong at the level.

Is he injured at the moment. Out for a few weeks I think.

Also is the James Donley broken collar bone confirmed?

I'm sorry, but our recruitment has been poor. We have had unbalanced squads and have signed injury prone journeymen. As a minimum, I'd expect a championship standard recruitment team to have some hits.

I think top end L1 will be a good move for him - at the minute that’s his level. Plenty of players - Alex Mowatt, a similar sort of player to Tyler, for one - have dropped down a level, rediscovered their mojo and come back to the Championship and looked very comfortable and consistent. No one questions Tyler’s tenacity, desire and workrate, it’s indisputable, but you’ve got to be watching a different game to me if you’re not seeing that his touch, time on the ball and decision making is currently nowhere near Championship level.

The players mentioned above have been good for the club, and we are just about competing.,need more strength in depth, and we have to get shot of players who can’t get in the squad. I don’t know why Bradshaw is still here, but I’m sure he will be unloaded soon. Ten appearances and no goals to show should mean he drops down a level or two. Probably do well at Salford.

At a time when the club is making real strides to stay at this level for the long term you choose to focus on the negatives.

Utterly bizarre.

Goodrhams biggest problem is he isn’t fast and he is small in stature, for an attacking player to be that at this level you have to be a very good footballer. He is never going to be a winger at this level, in fact that role behind the forward is about the only one he can play because of his physical limitations. Can’t say I ever really see him playing that role at a club much above where we are now.

Hopefully he proves me wrong but it’s going to be a real achievement for him to have a career as a championship footballer, the talk of him going further than that is just wishful thinking.

We signed injury prone journeyman because our manager at the time insisted upon it, which was strange given you’d have thought he of all people would have understand the quality and value available overseas. Since Des left and the recruitment team have been able to be a bit more creative, the business we’ve done has been much better.

I agree about the unbalanced squad and this summer in particular it was the main
failing, but in the same way you’d expect a championship standard recruitment team to have some hits, would you not also expect them to have some misses? And that ratio is likely to be weighted less and less in favour of the hits the less money there is available to spend vs the rest of your league.

Our record when spending decent money by our standard is pretty good, with Dembele the obvious bad one, who was meant to be the one who was proven at the level.

The post you're replying to lists five 'hits' without even mentioning Lankshear, Helik, and the promising signings this window of MPH, Donley and Konak.

Yes i wonder if the rumours of Prelec and Placheta are true that they want to move ,so we will need a few more in if true. I know the boss said at the weekend in maybe 1or 2 more in ,that will probably be done by today. But there is going to be alot of out goings yet .Bradshaw ,Dembele the 2 I spoke about and maybe O Donoker who really needs time away and probably Tyler if fit also needs game time, its a busy time for the recruitment team. And great for the forum, but then there's a game tomorrow we need to win ,oh there's alot happening.

Never a dull moment!

I love the fact we're being active and positive in this window in an attempt to stay up or go down fighting!

Still +1 on squad cap numbers and that's ignoring the likes of Negru.

Who is a realistic exit that another club might actually want?
Bradshaw to L1/L2?
No-one is going to pay much for Dembele.
Romney or Ter Avest back to the Dutch league?

Harris or Leigh might get L1 loan offers?

Think we still need a striker to complement Lankashear. Harris thank you for your time with us in League 1 but that’s about it. Not sure what is happening with Prelic

Prelec is out with an injury (hernia I think). Requires surgery and will be out for around a month assuming I've remembered correctly what Craig Short said.

Hi guys

Hope your all well, I'm amber and blue a stags run tictok and X space

Just thought I'd come on here and tell you what you are getting with Jamie McDonnell

A ball holding player, calm on the ball and doesn't rush passes

He's an old school player that loves a tackle, we played Sheffield utd on Sunday, he put in some crunching tackles in and Sheffield utd didn't like it

Without a doubt he'll be a cracking championship player he's been head and shoulders our best player this season

If you comparing him to similar players he's like a young Ryan Yates

1.5 mill is a steal may not seem it now it will

Good luck for the rest of the season

A very jealous stags fan

Mansfield might need Vaulks...

I don't think any club would see Bradshaw as a worthwhile signing

I think Dembele will get his chance under a new manager

Romeny we (still) have no idea if he's any good or not, interest in Holland would be his only escape route

Harris may be desperate for some playing time ahead of a potential World Cup spot in the summer, but dropping a level would seriously damage his chances of that.

Only way Leigh is thought about as an asset to lose is if we bring in another centre back and make Brown a makeshift LB again.

Ter Avest is the one I think might make way sadly, which is a shame as I would have him as our starting right back when fit.
