I would imagine that there is very little chance of bringing in more than one midfield player until the summer
Agree, I think there’s little chance we sign Matos with the money he will be on there as if he goes anywhere it will be on loan and they will want his wages covered as much as possible.

Whilst MPH & Donley are talented attacking players,
I feel like 2 weeks into the window and we’ve not addressed the key areas which were needed more.
We’ve finally managed to replace Rodrigues with Donley whilst MPH is a major upgrade on the returning to Fulham Luke Harris.

Holding midfield.

Wingers (pace/ability to beat a man).

Footballing Centre back.

Yep couldn't agree more hopefully it will be done

Strong agree. As for your winger point, it is particularly important to get one of the left as the Mills / Shemmy combo on the right is okay (presuming Shemmy stays which he might not)

Funnily enough, was just thinking the same on the drive home. We’ve done some cracking business in Donley and MPH but we still lack any DM/CM depth that we’ve been crying out for. I really had hoped we’d see this covered before City (albeit there’s still plenty of time).

Really we shouldn’t even be bothering to flirt with the back end of this window.

We should be getting our business done by around this time, but likely if it’s loans then we’ll have to wait until the end of the month but we probably need 4 perm signings if we send nobody back, I think it may be beyond us. I’d take a DM/Holding Midfielder & a winger as priority, we are sorely missing both.

Is MPH being considered as the winger? He played there (according to Jerome on The Dub) for the majority of his time at Swansea last season.

I wonder if MPH is seen as the winger, by all accounts he's got the pace and played wide plenty for Swansea, although mostly on the right. Davies could already be the footballing centre back.

Some sort of defensive midfielder/destroyer (Matos would be great) is the main priority and if we can improve elsewhere then all the better but I don't feel we're a million miles away from a very competitive team. Whether it'll be enough to dig is out of this hole I don't know but a lot of our players are better than they've shown.

Thought we were/are interested in a Dundee defender also a player from abroad 6foot odd . Don’t know if the manager has any input with his choice.

Personally I’m hoping this lull is simply a case of Bloomfield coming, very quick assessment of the squad. Before making sure everyone aligned and really pushing for the targets we want. I know Bloomfield is technically head coach but having worked successfully with Scott Mitchell before I'm sure he’ll now be very much involved with recruitment. Will be interesting if we start to see any links to players he’s worked with previously.

Hopefully the second bit in bold means the first bit in bold doesn't take long at all.

I'm interested in who's going OUT as well as in, we need to get some wages, or part wages, off the books, Golding, Thorniley, Negru, all unplanned back here, surely O'Donkor needs a loan as well.

But I hope they get it right with incoming players as they need to be able to scrap for every point

The window closes on February 2nd, plenty of time. If we don’t get the right players in by then, you might have cause to complain.
By which time 3/4 more games have passed, then those players have to fit in & get used to how we play, we really don’t want to be bothering with the last week of the window, we need everything in by then, otherwise we will end up with who everyone else doesn’t want.

It’s the same every window…; we want players in early, so do the club. For whatever reasons, some we get early, some we don’t.
Good business so far and looking forward to more coming in, when they can.

Havent heard any good rumours either so it seems we are well off from getting anyone in.

Going to be a long January now of trying to clear some players out first before we see anymore in I’d imagine.

I don’t see who would genuinely have clubs interested.

Phillips, Bradshaw Dembele all would have rather high wages for the clubs that would want them.

Shemmy as much as he’s inconsistent would be the last winger (besides mills) I’d get rid off but may attract the most interest.

Ole? Can’t see him going anytime soon.

Lost to think who we could/would ship out.

Even the likes of, Harris would be seen as a good option if the worst was to happen and we go down.

No good getting them in on the 1st of February & then they take a month to get up to speed, it will be too late by then.

You can get the business you want done as early as you want to, anything else is just noise & excuses.

Surprised Bradshaw is still here, would have thought we would have offered him out quite cheap on loan just to get something in and him off the books.
I’m not sure who would actually want him at this point, his legs have completely gone, I’d honestly think twice if I was a side in league 2 signing him.

I don’t think he’s even had a clear chance when he’s played.
