wonder if we'll wait for a new gaffer to make some of our bigger moves (incomings) or if we just let Ed do what he wants and hope for the best. hoping to see a lot of early outgoings so we get said incomings in!

We need a couple of players but mainly we need a manager! He has to get our players to play well two games in a row, even if one is in midweek.

Try to keep hold of.

Of course the owner may think he’s already chucked enough money at it this season.
I reckon a couple will come in, but more importantly we need to get all the dead wood out if we can. I read the other day that someone thought we needed 10 players in this window, there is going to widespread disappointment I think.

Two if we’re lucky.
Widespread disappointment all round.

Reinforcements in the middle, yes. But I don't actually think we need masses.

What we need is a talented tactician and motivator as manager. Someone the players will play for, the fans will unite behind and warm to, and who has the nous to win football matches by getting more out of the current (solid, if unspectacular) squad.

Yes, we'd all like a bit more quality on the pitch - but it is far more important that any money is used towards getting the right manager - even if they are currently employed.

Jens Berthel Askou as manager, bringing Elliott Watt with him (Brannagan MKII) with, say, a Matos type loan. That would be a brilliant January.

Far superior, in my eyes, to bringing in five or six players (mostly EPL loans - i.e. Luke Harris going back, someone similar in return), rolling the dice with a couple more £800k wingers (who are no more likely to be consistent than Shemmy or Mills) - all overseen by Matt Bloomfield at the helm.

The right manager without enforcements keeps us up.

The wrong manager, even with plenty of exciting looking January activity, doesn't.

Do we watch different games?

Cumming is probably our player of the season. Krastev and Prelec have looked capable of doing a job. Placheta has done a job. Dembele wouldn't be missed by anyone.

A lot of wages still being paid to players not in the 1st team squad or even at the club.

We desperately needed a defensive/holding midfielder for cover and competition in the summer and still do.

Speculation on my part but I do wonder if there will be a big money departure in January, someone like Currie for example.

Agree , but I really think the right manager would struggle to keep this team up , we desperately need some power in midfield and a winger as a bare minimum

Now we are in January, the squad limit restriction is paused - which means we can get people in now to bolster areas where we are low on numbers (ie central midfield) and only need to get back to a declared 25 at the start of February

I wouldn't be averse to adding straight away just to emphasize to some of the fringe players that they need to sort out destinations or risk being left out of the 25 for the rest of the season.

What load of crocks, donkeys, rejects, has beens, loans, & waste of money are we getting this January then🤷🏻‍♂️😉😂

Allan Campbell and...
Joking aside, and presuming he has kept fit in the meantime (insert 'mini-preseason' comment here), we could do worse than bring Campbell in now to give options in the centre (rotation, formation changes etc).

He's not the headline addition, and hopefully we'll be adding others that are, but he's a decent player, and would be ahead of others already here in their usefulness right now...

Thing is we are desperately short CM ....but recruitment wasted and continue to waste money on the two CM stilp on the books who should have been pushing or back up . El Mizouni and Sibley
