Transfer Window January 2026 Transfer Window Build-Up Thread

Pick a formation & recruit for it. (For example 4-3-3) *if everyone is fit*

Cumming
Spencer Helik Brown Currie
BDK Vaulks Brannagan
Placheta Lankshear Krastev

Subs: Ingram, Long, Davies, Leigh, L’Harris, Goodrham, Mills, Prelec, M’Harris

Not included: HTA, Sibley, Dembele, Romeny, Phillips, Bradshaw

So where can we upgrade this?

1) CDM to replace Vaulks.
2) Right winger to replace Placheta as a starter.
3) Left winger to replace Krastev as a starter.
4) A number 10 to replace Luke Harris (return to Fulham)
5) A replacement for Mark Harris so we have 3 striker options of Lankshear, Prelec & player 3.

You’d then move out the following players: Sibley, Romeny, Bradshaw. 2 of them in Sibley & Bradshaw who both turned down loan moves at the end of the summer & Romeny who’s only here because of our owner.

Then get criticised for inflexibilty, with no plan B

While a CM is definitely the priority, I wouldn’t mind us going in for Alassana Jatta…6”4, “good age”, L2 so should be gettable for us, scores 1 in 2 games….worst case, a bit of depth and different option off the bench, best case a massive return on investment and some crucial goals.

A number of good free agents available, would take Reece Oxford purely for the vibes, but players like Morsy and Ramsey could be useful midfield additions

Siri, show me a list of footballers who used to be good and now struggle with injuries 😅

Andy Rinomhota has re-signed for Reading today.

Emmanuel Dennis is a quality finisher. Can’t believe he is without a club.

Troy Parrott? great goals record in the Netherlands so far.

AZ reportedly paid £6.7m for him, and he's been scoring at almost a goal per game this season in the Eredivisie. Only 23.

No way he's going anywhere for less than £10m, and his next transfer fee may well be double that. I'm not sure that there's more than a couple of teams in the Championship who could afford him, and we certainly can't!

Great job scoring twice against Portugal, mind. Likely too late for Ireland (or to knock out Ronaldo & co.) but still funny!

If Ireland beat Hungary on Sunday they are in the play offs are they not? So maybe not to late.

Yeah, I'm probably too early to write them off. But I don't like their chances of winning in Budapest.

Me neither really, be a hell of a international weekend to beat Portugal at home then Hungary away to get into the play offs at the death, the especially with that team.

Yep in the second year of that contract though, never seemed to settle with loans in the Championship before so may put a few off.

Jonny Kenny 4 goals in 4 games for Celtic.
Won his first cap for the Republic, coming on at 2:1 down.
First mentioned him on here nov 21.

I know he wont get much sympathy but its sad to see what has happened to Malcolm Ebiowei. I hope he can bring things back somehow.

Guess that's a hell of an international weekend then. If Troy Parrott wasn't already out of range as a transfer target for us, he sure as hell is now.

It really was, the story of this international break for me, especially given how the games played out. Parrots value has gone well beyond us now, if we ever had a chance.

Scotland don’t win tonight and the other 4 nations in the British isles in the play offs in March.
