This window should provide a good opportunity to get rid of a fair few. Yes we are paying a number of players at the moment but unless they get game time somewhere the contracts they are on could be their last because we will be releasing a lot this summer.

So even the likes of Bradshaw, Phillips, Harris and Sibley could drop a couple of divisions to get game time and contracts elsewhere thereafter.

I would have thought that looking to the future with these is a very good idea.
Griffiths, Snowden , Lee ( and maybe others) seen to have teriffic potential.
Hopefully a couple make it in our first team which will make this worthwhile.

I do think we have to get used to having more than just the first team on pro deals, especially if we want to build up the U21s to become a useful feeder for the first team.

Also whilst there have been a few signings that haven’t worked out, there have been a good number that have. When you’re shopping in the waters we are (very competitive for Champ quality players, less competitive for proven high League One players), I think players not working out comes with the territory somewhat

I know, but it makes you wonder about the timing of Rowetts exit. The recruitment team bring in the players and the incoming manager has little input. A bit like when Des went last year…is it really a year ago when we played enterprising football then to be served up twelve months of unattractive games.
Hopefully the next appointment will be made quickly and the board will have been casting an eye on the successor for some time.

If you're going to be 'pragmatic', also great.

This season we've been neither, which is ultimately why results and performances have more often than not been dreadful.
