Transfer Window January 2026 Transfer Window Build-Up Thread

Sibley, Bradshaw, O'Donkor seem most likely to go in January, although GOD doesn't count towards the squad cap.

Bradshaw seems the most surplus to requirements...

Could it include making current Loans permanent perhaps? Dale and Findlay both getting game time elsewhere...

O Donkor doesn't affect the squad numbers and who will be taking Bradshaw off us?

GOD doesn't affect squad numbers but he will be one of the players twiddling their thumbs around the squad because they're not part of the match day squad. This is what Rowett was talking about in his latest interview and he referenced Bradshaw as an example.

Sibley - loan
Bradshaw - loan
Tyler - sold

Josh Johnson and O'Donkor don't count towards the squad cap, so even if they do go out on loan, it makes no difference.

Its worth noting: Unless we plan on leaving 2/3 of the current loanees out of the matchday squad, any January signings will have to be permanent deals.

always Salford I suppose. Can't see any league one club touching him, legs have gone.
For the Championship yes but he could do a job for a club such as Exeter, Stevenage, Northampton, Wycombe, Doncaster, Mansfield who are all League 1.

I think that's being both kind to him and unkind to league one, not been that long since we played in that division, from what I have seen of him he would struggle in it.

A loan could be sent back in January assuming all parties agree.

Luke Harris. Appreciate the limited time he's had to date, but when he has been on the pitch, I've seen nothing to get excited about. I'd be sending him home.

Don't think Tyler or Marris are going to be going anywhere and can actually see Sibley staying around too as a cover-all bench player.

We are, for the first time in a long while, overstocked with strikers so cannot see Bradshaw or GOD featuring so imagine they'll be on their way if a new home can be found.

But not sure about many other moves, so I reckon it'll be just those two out and one central midfielder in....

I think he’d be a decent enough option for a side at the bottom of L1 or any L2 team. He clearly doesn’t have the mobility or durability for the Championship any more, but L1’s full of players who still have the technical quality but not the agility any more.

Well teams we have loaned players out to in league one, better players (now), have really benefited, Plymouth and Peterborough are flying. He is on the way out as a pro footballer, a Sam Winnall type, be a poor signing for any league one team.

Well yeah he is, he’s an aging striker who relied on his movement and finishing, but look at Walsall, top of L2. When they needed a goal on Saturday, they brought on a 36 year old Jamille Matt. I’m sure they’d rather have a 33 year old Tom Bradshaw.

When we played Mansfield pre-season, they started a 35 year old who could barely move. Vale’s striker last night looked 50 and missed two glorious chances.

Bradshaw might look a mile off Championship level (and Sibley, O’Donkor etc) but the gap to the bottom L1/L2 is big too.

Absolutely. No league one team would touch him.
Some people way overrate our current players.

If you relied on movement to get in position to be a finisher and you can no longer move then that’s a big problem whatever level you play, the little he has played this season he has looked terrible, one of those games was against a league 2 team. Still hope someone takes him, been a dreadful signing, then we can see who is right.

He can actually move though, he’s just not got Championship athleticism anymore. There’s a leap from that to “won’t even be a decent option for Walsall”. As you say, hopefully he’ll move on and we’ll see.

Yep, he looked absolutely fine against Mansfield and I’m confident he has the ability to play at that level, league 2 absolutely certainly.

He’s not shafted like Winnall.

I can see Shrewsbury being interested in Bradshaw, his hometown club and the club he made his league debut.
Plus they must be desperate, though how much would they pay for him?
