Why could he not do it when he was in the championship for a couple of seasons then?

Does the xg show we have been creating all these chances?

I’m not saying that we are creating loads of chances. What I’m saying is that when those half chances come along a natural finisher would be anticipating the cross and attacking that area. We scored two goals against Luton where our centre backs got ahead of the defenders.
I would expect our centre forward to do the same thing.

Why Taylor didn’t do it when he was at BCFC is a mystery but he only started 20 odd games in four seasons. He was used as a sub a lot so who knows.

Our poor finishing is deluding some fans into thinking we aren’t creating anything - believe me, I know my eyes aren’t deceiving me, we have put plenty of crosses in recently that good strikers get across the defenders and make the keeper work. We have a number 9 who can’t head a football - that’s a big part of the problem. Strikers, good strikers, are allowed to make chances for themselves too. Thats why I’m buoyed by Romeny yesterday, that was proper foraging to nearly make something out of absolutely nothing. Scarlett doesn’t create that chance for himself, the Championship version of Mark Harris doesn’t either (the L1 version might have done) and as for Bradshaw who knows.
agree about the crosses I like sparky but he is sometimes out on the flanks rather than on the centre to try and score. As you said Ole Romeney did well for his chance yesterday and that’s what we should do a lot more of.

Is that the same Matt Taylor that whilst potentially in his prime and playing in the Championship scored just 7 goals in 67 games over a 4 year period.
But given that apparently no striker in world football could have scored more goals than our strikers have done this season with the chances they’ve been given then how do we know he didn’t have even less chances in those 67 games??

A few rumours I heard yesterday;
Moore won’t sign a new contract so we are looking to sell. He would’ve been off if he hadn’t got injured
Sunderland came in with a new offer for Goodrham Friday night, having had a 7m offer previously rejected.

No idea if there is any truth in either rumour, just stuff I heard.

Elliott Moore signed a long term contract extension in September 2023 which takes him to June 2026 I believe. So no rush if we are looking to agree a further extension or move him on.

Sunderland wouldn't be the worse move for Tyler, although I'd still be surprised if he went anywhere this window. But Sunderland have looked to bring in a lot of young talent and are backing them. He would likely be rotated in and out, but I could see him get plenty of minutes if he were to go, and could have a promotion to the PL if things work out. I would think that bids of £8m or more would be enough to get parties talking.

I made no reference to other strikers, my comment was that he failed over 4 seasons to even establish himself as a first choice striker, yet many are saying he would have been scoring for fun in our current team.

So would I. But I'd have to find some way to catch him first.
I would as well, I love TG but he has looked a bit out of sorts before the suspension, also don,t think he is going to suit the style of play under GR, definitely playing more directly and bypassing the midfield a tad to much for my liking, of course you couldn't argue that isn,t best given the run we are on.

It sounds like Rowett really rates him.

Or maybe he's trying to up the bid...

Without Tyler the squad starts to look a lot older, with less likelihood of development.

He'll have to show a bit more to get his place back now, but I'm excited to see if he can.

If we can squeeze £10mil out of the Tyler deal, that’s unbelievable business. With that money, we could SERIOUSLY strengthen our squad. I would use that money to bring in the following:

Poku
Tyler Bindon
Alex Matos on a permanent deal
A new striker (Kone?)
Tahirovic

Cheers Tyler 👋🏼
Not sure it would work out exactly like that in a week but it wd strengthen the balance sheet going forward 💪

Winger and CM?
I still think a striker will sneak in, whether that’s one of the two or an opportunistic third. Might depend on outgoings but Rowett is far too sensible to overlook the need for a striker with a bit more height and physicality. I refuse to accept this is a blind spot - he will know.

Then again maybe he thinks we can get by and solve in the summer in more of a buyer’s market,

I watched the Luton highlights and Carlton Morris was a complete handful. I know he wasn’t great when on loan as a kid but he’d be good here now.

I still think that if the right permanent U21 option or options come along then it could go from 1/2 to maybe 3/4
