Rowett mentioned that he continued to hold Edwards' registration when his contract ran out i.e. he wasn't completely a "free agent" and Stevenage's announcement of the signing talked about agreeing terms with us, something they wouldn't have had to do if Edwards was fully a free agent.

I do wonder if we've popped a sell-on or similar into the deal.

Would be handy (either in this thread or separately) if someone might be happy to pull together a list of all the incoming/outgoings in the Championship per each club so we can get a sense of what business has been done in the division this window.

If he stays fit and does well for them maybe a way back would not mind that at all.

Interesting. If his contract had run out and we refused to release his registration when he wanted to sign for someone else, I'm pretty sure that we would have been hammered under employment law. I can't see that we had any grounds at all to request terms added to the deal if Edwards' contract had expired.

Maybe 'terms with us' refers to something else, something to do with him using our facilities for his rehab maybe? Or maybe a rolling one month deal?

Given that Rowett said he was also free to explore contract offers elsewhere whilst training with us, we clearly had no plans to refuse to release his registration at the time that he had a concrete offer ready to go.

Pretty sure I have read about club's holding onto players registrations in the past in relation to disciplinary exits/mutually agreed exits but to ensure they can pick up a fee if they do find a new club.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he was under some form of terms with us during his rehab and training after the end of his official short term contract.

It is also very likely that Edwards would need to be registered with a club as part of an insurance policy incase he got injured whilst training with us.

I forgot about woltman is he still around we really dropped the ball on that one. Maselino seems to be doing ok in the younger age groups wether he can bulk up abit and make the step up is another thing I hope he can there is talent there for sure would not mind him to get a run if we get safe from relegation to see how he gets on.
Woltman has been injured for the past three months (and was injured before that to boot). Don't think it's fair to say we dropped the ball on him, he was always a player with potential and it's a shame he appears to be injury prone at just 21.

There's a difference between an injury-prone player who keeps suffering recurring or similar injuries (Marcus Browne, for example) and someone who has been unfortunate enough to suffer unrelated injuries through things like horrible collisions. My understanding is Waltman falls into the latter category.

Looking at the ins and outs the thing that strikes me is how much business Hull and Luton have done. New managers coming in recently like ourselves and have acted quickly in the transfer market.

At the top end I see Middlesbrough and Sheffield United have strengthened significantly and so have Burnley. I will whisper this quietly but I think Leeds are going to miss the boat again.

Hard disagree. Leeds are far and away the best team this year. Best xG both for and against, highest average possession, can't see a scenario where they don't go up as champions.

Possession isn't everything. When we beat Peterborough 5-0, we had something silly like 25% possession. Same for Forest when they beat Brighton 7-0 at the weekend.

That said, Leeds will still go up.

It's certainly a risk to stand still but Leeds have the benefit of being the best team in the league by a distance, their major weakness is Meslier who has cost them a load of points this season. If they had Trafford in goal for example then they'd easily be 10 points clear of the playoffs, that seems the area they need to strengthen pretty urgently. Perhaps they're gambling that they go up and even better is available rather than pending money now for a smaller improvement but it is a risk, especially as those below have strengthened.

Sunderland look a good bet for a top 2 finish at 9/2 with Bet365, I'd be all over that if I weren't gubbed. Rigg, Neil, Bellingham and Le Fee is a pretty handy midfield.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Kyle wanted to repay us somehow given how good we've been with him.

I can't see Leeds not go up.
They are the best in the Division by some margin.

Yeah but if you combine having the ball more than anyone with creating the most chances and conceding the fewest chances, you won’t go far wrong.

I am eager to watch this....posted yesterday....but still not available when i check youtube. Want to hear from GR perspective regarding his transfer method / policy.
