At the moment couldn’t see him getting into our teamhe'd certainly provide us with the depth in quality we need

Modern football is not about having a best 11. It's not about dropping players. Players come in and out of form, carry injuries, different players play better against different opposition and this and other reasons means that teams often change week to week. Last season, particularly with our wide type players (Browne, Whyte, Graham etc), as happens in the modern game, sometimes they started and other times they came on to add pace etc from the bench. As arguably our only current specialist out and out wide player Fosu's drop in form, in my view, is down to not having more players like Browne etc to take some of the load. What drop Henry, Brannagan, Fosu and evening Sykes couldn’t see it
But what a great player to have in our squad, and with Fosu blowing a bit hot and cold recently, and clearly in need of a rest, being able to rotate him and Browne for the rest of the season would be great, and he can play other positions as well if need be, so would improve our squad and options a lotAt the moment couldn’t see him getting into our team

On that basis, there is no point in signing any midfield players at all thenWhat drop Henry, Brannagan, Fosu and evening Sykes couldn’t see it
What about morning Sykes or maybe afternoon Sykes? What drop Henry, Brannagan, Fosu and evening Sykes couldn’t see it

I call him Chopper.Better than Gavin Morning Glory Whyte.
Not at all just means someone decent who has performed well during this season could well be benched and would they want to stay? Don’t get me wrong Browne on his day is an exceptional player and would welcome him here, but he would have to see he would have to fight for his place. On that basis, there is no point in signing any midfield players at all then
Also had a torrid time at Wigan a few years ago. Karl does seem to have the knack of getting the best out of this sort of player. He alluded to Fosu being tricky to manage as well a little while ago. My guess the main concern would be a lack of game time compared to last time he was here. I think he prefers to play on the left as does Nathan Holland, maybe one or the other? Both can definitely play more central though. Not at all just means someone decent who has performed well during this season could well be benched and would they want to stay? when he was with us last year he did some great things on the wing scored good goals but and it is only a bit when he was at West Ham he had issues which were highlighted when we were looking at him, and now he has issues at Middlesbrough hope if he comes here he’s left those issues at Middlesbrough.
Browne would get into the team ahead of Sykes. 100%. Robinson rates him highly enough that I think he would likely be one of the first names on the team sheet most weeks.

I agree that when both are on their best form I think Browne is more dangerous. More power, more acceleration through the lines and more aerial threat. His issue was always that he had one explosive game every five or six, where he looked absolutely unplayable, and the other times he would sulk about, do basically nothing and then start kicking out and hacking people down and getting booked, at which point he had to be hauled off. Looks like he’s still doing that at Boro, so there clearly is a big problem with his psychological strength and / or temperament. But when you get that good day where it clicks and his head is straight, the guy is a machine.Funny how people see different players
At their best I would have Browne over Fosu any day.
My reasoning behind this is Browne’s ability to get away from players, his scoring and heading ability and the fact he creates numerous chances for others
Well, that truly is the question. And would Shandon Baptiste, Rob Rickie and Cameron Brannagan still be on the bench? Would James Henry and Josh Ruffels make it out of the reserves? So many questions, such little time! But would he make it onto the fabled magnetic board, that's the question.
KR said yesterday that Thorne might stay. He hinted he's costing next to nothing and is a terrific player when fit.Obviously we are interested in a few players and the calibre of them is very promising, but we also have a lot of players (some loanees, but all players with real quality or potential) out injured. Off the top of my head it’s these 6, although there may be others I have missed:
Woodburne
Forde
Hanson
Thorne
Napa
Eastwood
Easty is supposed to be back next week, anyone know when the others are due back? They Will be like new signings for us too on top of the players we are already looking to bring in.
