still shithousing then

I’d put Burton about 5th in all time Oxford goalkeepers. I think longevity and nostalgia is clouding people’s opinions. Based on players making at least 50 appearances then Steve Hardwick was comfortably a superior keeper to Burton. I think Eastwood was too. Whitehead and Cumming would probably make the top 5 as well. Burton was the keeper when I first started watching Oxford so I have an obvious fondness for him, like loads of others, but taking the blinkers off and assessing it properly he’s never the best ever - in my opinion.

Whitehead is the best OUFC keeper I have seen. Hardwick was a good stopper as well, but lost his way in the top flight. I remember him being a bit on the short side? Although not Paul Reece short. Roy Burton is just an absolute legend, keeper when I started going to games in the early 80s.

Maybe we should start a list of 'busiest OUFC goalkeepers' - Richard Knight would win but Cumming would be up there, I'm sure.

We should definitely do it on the Jamie Mackie thread too

Id imagine it is a coding error, so no need to be so passive aggressive.

Feels like a missed opportunity not having a photo of him pointing, that was 50% of his skillset during his time with us.

Well I've just spent a few minutes searching for such an image, surprisingly hard to find. But got one of him doing a double point, one to himself and one to someone unknown...

The classic Mackie double point, the photo needs changing.

Probably a browser cache issue. Do you see the button at the top of the thread 'Get Latest Features'? Give that a click if so.

It's what he brings to the squad away from the pitch.
