My first thought is that both the player and Spurs must be open to it, which is a big positive.
I suspect it will be an easier deal to do if we stay up, and it may be contingent on that from the player (and his agent's) view. I'm most interested in what kind of fee we've agreed with Spurs, as a loan with a view to permanent usually has this agreed up front. I expect it would be partially performance related, and also have a hefty sell on percentage, if we sell him on, but I can't imagine, even for a 20 year old, this deal will be cheap.
I like the signing, but I really like that we've been able to add in the possibility of making it permanent, as this surely means we're not messing about this window. It could also be a way of deferring some cost, if we need to, due to FFP reasons.
