Ex-Player Thread James Henry 🐐

Another couple of tidy finishes for the Shots yesterday. Aldershot have got themselves a top player in James Henry.

Glad he's still playing and scoring, as he's still too good to retire, but surprised he dropped as low as the conference to be honest, as I think he could easily have coped with league two, and probably lower league one as well.

Probably means he could remain where he is living and settled. It would depend on whether any club within travelling distance offered him a contract etc.

Lives in Maidenhead doesn’t he? So wasn’t go to trek around the country for the for same money to play at one level higher.

Was never going to stay at league one, that’s the same people who think Eastwood is a league one player saying that, it’s not 2017 anymore (I say that as the man who is refusing to accept the Oasis reunion being announced this Tuesday because I didn’t believe they had split up), he just can’t play at that pace anymore so why not drop down to a level where he can actually enjoy it?

Plus it’s seven miles from my house so he can can always kip in my spare room if he can’t be arsed to go home, the mural of himself on the wall will make him feel really comfortable I should think.

Not when he realizes the other face in the mural is yours.

James Henry seems to be enjoying he's time with Aldershot scored one and involved in setting two up.

The most interesting thing about this move (well for me) is that if James Henry takes a corner in Basingstoke’s away match and local derby to Bracknell Town next season he will be doing it only 400 metres as the crow flies from my house (assuming he does so from the nearest corner flag) while not even being in the same county as my house.

The most pointless (potential) fact ever on here I should think.

You live in a town that actually straddles three counties - Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.

Apologies, I didn't realise Bracknell dont play in Bracknell!

Its a bit strange, they moved to Sandhurst a few years back, confused me at first. Nice little set up in a nice park, think the argument is that the ground is still in Bracknell Forest council district.

Basingstoke must be one of the larger towns with no club playing in the top 6 levels of English football thinking about it, suppose like Bracknell they are very near to Reading so lose fans to them.

I actually walked over and watched Bracknell v Basingstoke last season as it was on the August bank holiday, must have been about a thousand there as its a local derby.
