It was fairly easy to tell who was a Clotet signing during his era. Tiendalli, Pekalski, Mehmeti, Xemi, etc.We all think of Clotet as a horrific failure and a horrible judge of talent.....but not only did we sign Henry under his tenure, we also signed Cameron Brannagan as well (and Rob Dickie)!
Whether or not he had much to do with the signings, those two did more to define the last six years of Oxford football than anyone else!
Very well said. An extremely emotional moment, and it felt fitting that he was at the heart of it.One of my defining memories of the pandemic was being lucky enough to be one of the few in the stadium to see his goal against Hull during that Covid-measures trial game.
The utter joy of being at football again. The visible elation on his face as he got to celebrate in front of (even just a small quantity) of fans. That weird high knees celebration. In dark times it was a wonderful moment.
A lot of getting Henry signed was down to Faz closer got Jack Payne on loan and preferred him but when Horne went then we truly could see we were blessed with such a player. We all think of Clotet as a horrific failure and a horrible judge of talent.....but not only did we sign Henry under his tenure, we also signed Cameron Brannagan as well (and Rob Dickie)!

Excellent. The club is open to him returning in a coaching capacity once he's finished his playing career:

Good to know but please don’t link their articles. The less clicks they get the better. The club is open to him returning in a coaching capacity once he's finished his playing career:

If he happens to come back for a game next season, he deserves a huge reception.Deserved a send off on the field so fans could express their gratitude in person but those situations only occur very occasionally.
I’ll miss him greatly, my favorite player along with Brannagan
We’ve been lucky to have not one but two talismen who have brought this club on in leaps and bounds in recent years.
Good luck James and thank you!!
My best mate, (who is a Man U supporter and always condescending towards Oxford) saw this game. His only ever visit to the kassam and even he was blown away by Henry’s performance !!One of the few matches Mrs Emilio has come along to was his hattrick v Lincoln, and every now and then she will refer to it. That quite some achievement, given her inability to understand the point of competitive sport.
Thank you for everything James, utter maestro at times, and just a generally nice bloke to boot.
Best of luck![]()

The columns from fans have so much more depth than what the journalists put together. Local journalism is obviously on its a**e throughout the country but things like this bring it into stark focus. Good article though, glad it is out therehttps://www.Oxfordm**l.co.uk/sport/24343211.oxvox-thank-james-henry-following-oxford-united-release/
Nice touch, this. Reiterate all the above about him being great to watch for us over the years. My favourite memory of his is still that header away at Doncaster that assured us L1 safety a few years back, was a cracking day out.
Perhaps because at least it is an outlet for our voices to be heard, even if just in the sports section, where 99.9% of readers are fellow fans. Why is the vice-chair of OxVox contributing content (and clicks) for a publication that consistently undermines our ambitions for a life-saving new stadium?
