Could it be a possibility to bring Jake back?

He is out of contract in the summer and is very unlikely to get another championship club but I think could still do a job in league 1. Could be a good replacement for Nelson when he leaves.

I would think that he would want to stay close to Sheffield if he can.
Also it's hardly ever a good idea to go back. Gilchrist was nowhere near the player he had been when he came back.

To be fair Gilly came back after 7 years away! Wright left just 3 years ago.

I'd have him back, he's only just turned 33 which really isn't that old for a centre half. He won two promotions with us & 5 years as captain, he would be a good experienced player to have around the club in general & is probably at least as good as what we've got now.

Would welcome him back but not sure he has played this season?

Probably end up signing for bloody Bradford!!!

We need a left sided CB. Might be a backward step and would he want to move back south? Probably not

I’d take him back, move Dickie to the rhs? Plus Kelleher and one more and we be sorted at CB

I think Dickie still has the capacity to become something of a cult hero, if for nothing more than the fact that his name still elicits the odd juvenile chuckle.

(In all seriousness, I think he’s come on a lot this year and his recent performances, after a wobble around the new year, have been for the most part very assured)

I reckon Dickie would push on playing on the right side of defence. So as Nelson is undoubtedly moving on in the summer I hope we sign a left sided centre half to replace him.

I am surprised as to how much stick he seems to get.
As you say he had a wobble for a few games but has kept Eaves pretty quiet and has been a big reason why we have conceded so few recently.
He is excellent in the air and rarely loses a header.
Sure he can improve but he is still young for a CB

Oh my, how wrong can you be, young Ian. He was on the team sheet on Wednesday, and picked up a booking in the 72nd minute. ;)
Apart from the booking, he was quite anonymous. Perhaps Bazzer can give us a summary - even if he didn't see the game...?

Anyhow, he's not played for two days. He'll be rusty... If his heads not gone, or been turned, his legs will soon be gone. QPR seem to have missed out on Wright as his replacement.

Are you SURE that he didn't give his full name? (Just an innocent question)
