I know it doesn’t mean very much realistically and whether a player can step up to another league is far more nuanced than looking at some ratings - but I thought it would be interesting to look at the player ratings on FotMob for the last two seasons for Jack Currie, Ciaron Brown, Greg Leigh, and the L1 LB of last season (player of the year?) Harrison Burrows.

The latter three have all stepped up to the Championship, and Jack Currie has a v good rating this season which is among the other three for their seasons in L1. Don’t see any reason why he couldn’t make the next step up. Really excited to see how he gets on at Oxford. I think he could be a huge signing for us.

I personally think JC/agent will await the play offs and if LO get promoted you will probably see LO make a offer to keep him and a serious offer too.

To me, JC is a Londoner first and foremost and it seems he's very well liked there/been playing well for them/....and if they are in the championship with us it might be a no brainer.

And, guess what we'll all be saying if this was to happen "teamslikeorient".

However, if LO fail it will be an easier job to get JC back through our doors.

I’d be very suprised if we sold him, (especially to Orient). He has high potential, only 23 and will likely be included in the team of the season. Orient have had a good season, but a huge part of that is the loanees they have brought in. 4 of their top 5 performers are loanees. (Keeley, Currie, Donley, Kelman). They will lose all their strongest players at the end of this season.

I know everyone said it about us, but if Orient do get promoted they will go straight go back down, especially with Bham/Wrex coming up with them. The league will be tougher next season than it was this season.

Yes they did say it about us so what’s saying Orient can’t do what we have achieved?

Exactly. If we can do it, so can they. Everyone said Brentford and Bournemouth won’t survive in the PL. Football isn’t played in he boardroom, it’s down on the grass and if you’ve got a canny manager - and especially one who can utilise the loan system well - then anything is possible. I see no reason why Orient couldn’t match our exploits this season - they’ve mirrored us in scraping in on the last day after all.

But he's our player.
Of course he's our player but if promoted his life this season (since August) has every working day been at Orient making a bond with his teammates. And being a Londoner, and living and commuting within London area will have a massive effect on his decision to what he wants as well. Remember, even when we had problems with injuries and results we never re-called him once. This may well have a say in things when all is said and done.

But, of course I know he's our player, but well being and health could be allowed to play a part in any future discussion on his future.

However, if LO fail, JC will be back. If LO win the playoffs then it will be a different gravy with his Currie.

Oxford isn't a million miles from London, also a run out in the championship, if successful increases his value, no sense in selling until we know what sort of player he is.
See Nelson, he did brilliantly for us, but there's little chance of signing him due to excellent performances that had Premiership glimpses.

One of the strangest comments I have seen on here for some time. Easier to get him back through our doors? If we want him, he’s our player, regardless of where Orient end up.

Maybe it swings some players but not sure they can all afford to be so parochial - like do you want a move to Real Madrid from your hometown - nah I'm ok thanks🤔

If I were Currie I'd be pretty miffed if I was told I couldn't play in the play-offs having played such a key part in getting there.

Cumming and Stevens were both on loan to us last year, and both played the PO final, so presume it's not an issue for loan players.
Depends on loan .. end of season or given date. Some clubs don't think and go end of season and get caught out. Think we have before

Nothing strange about my comments at all. It is just my view on what I believe could happen in the upcoming differing scenios. One being him playing and helping LO to the championship and the other them losing out in the semi finals or the final and heading back to Horspath.

Generally, I never normally respond to a post like yours but have done as your choice of word could've been a little different. It had a little bit of spittle attached.

However, I'm sorry if my post on JC has upset you Diddy.

On the subject of footballers - I have had some professional footballers in my family since the early 70's and have a little insight into how some footballers work and this includes loan spells and you must remember that JC hasn't ever played for us yet and all I was saying without your good self getting your panties in a twist is there could be a scenario in the wings if he plays in the p.o final and help get LO promoted - that he and his agent, maybe, just maybe fancies staying put in E10 and we as a club think it may be a good bit of business for everyone concerned. That's all I'm getting at.

If it all falls at any other hurdle then he'll probably be back to try and replace GL and it will end up with one or a.n. other leaving the club. Olè olè olè olè Greg Leigh, Greg Leigh. Remember, remember the weekending of the 10th of September (August really but it didn't rhyme). To be or not to be Greg Leigh?

Easy isn't it.

There are no panties in a twist and I am not at all upset. I just thought your comment was miles away from any sort of realism. In absolutely no possible scenario, would it be “difficult to get him back through the door” as you stated. If we chose to sell, then in simple terms it will be our decision and at the price we set.

Perhaps you worded it poorly initially, but in any case I think you’re well wide of the mark.

I can almost guarantee that someone posted something like this about us on Plymouth's forum this time last year!

After all, Orient got more points this year than we did last, and we lost by far and away our best attacking player at season's end. Completely failed to replace him too!

If Orient come up, they'll be bookie's favourite to go down without a shadow of a doubt. But that doesn't mean they necessarily will if their manager knows what they're doing......[Pauses to check who Orient's manager is......Richie Wellens?!? 😬]

Also, just to add to my post - we really don't know if the league will be tougher next season. Absolutely everybody said that League One would be a nightmare this season.....and then Huddersfield, Peterborough, Barnsley, Bolton, Rotherham & Blackpool all had down seasons simultaneously, meaning we've got a set of playoff teams that would have seriously surprised anyone last summer.

You never know how many sides are going to go full basket case any given year.......especially in the Championship where there appear to be plenty of nutso owners.

Bookies favourite to go down, now where have I seen that before?

Of course they did. That’s why I said “I know everyone said it about us”

The favourites to go down will likely be Oxford, Hull, Derby, Stoke, Preston etc etc. I can’t see a Leyton Orient squad without all their current best players fighting it out amongst those teams. As I said, they will lose 4 out of 5 of their best performers from this season. That’s essentially almost half of their starting XI, who’re they left with in their team? Dan Agyei who has scored 7 goals this season?

But you never know.. maybe if they came up and signed the same loanees again.. but I don’t see why Currie would want to make a permanent switch to Orient at this point 🤷‍♂️

I notice you have put "will" in bold type. Would you have bet on Luton having successive relegations? No. Of course not. No one knows how it will play out. Do you base your prophesies on previous successful forecasts?
