World Cup International Matches

Good idea during the long break

We are also doing this too (as mentioned by Jerome on The Dub) though I've not heard who against.

I see from Cam's Instagram story that he's on holiday somewhere with palm trees, so I guess they all get given some extended time off while their peers are off with their national sides. I had always presumed they would carry on with business as normal at the training ground.

Most clubs will give the players an extended few days off during international breaks. I've only seen it once where a manager made the players who hadn't gone away on international duty come in and train, there were 7 of them and the manager was not popular with the players or his staff.

Do they not have palm trees in Bicester then?

Cam cruelly overlooked by Tuchel again.

Norn Ireland v Hungary on BBC3 - Ciaran Brown doing Ciaran Brown things.

Just gently eased Szoboszlai off the pitch into the hoardings 🤣

Brodie Spencer on for a certain Jamie Donley 😊

Brown had a very strong game. Hopefully O'Neill doesn't play him in all the games or he's going to be bloody knackered

Brown played very well. Spencer ok in his cameo. NI an interesting young side. Well coached and motivated.

I watched the second half and quite enjoyed it.

Very reminiscent of us in The Championship. They were up against a more technically gifted side but were well organised and worked very hard (Brown and Spencer embodied that) and in Shea Charles even had a prickly type captaining them from centre midfield who everything went through.

And much like our talisman's, his corners were rank. Which was really frustrating when they'd consistently worked set piece opportunities only to waste them.

As an aside, Ciaron Brown is a consummate professional - so supremely consistent in his performances for club and country.

On track for four games within a little over a fortnight poor lad.

Pulling up trees as they say; best keep him away from Stratfield Brake just to be safe...

Yeah someone needs to tell O'Neill he doesn't need to gain an advantage over us anymore by running our players into the ground.

Bearing in mind our backlog of games and lack of options in defence, it's a bit concerning

Ukraine 0-1 Northern Ireland

Not many people would have had Ciaron Brown as their first goalscorer, but what a moment for the big defender.
He's been quietly excellent throughout the window and has never put a foot wrong for Northern Ireland.
Not a hair out of place, either. What a man.
The perfect start.

Spencer got a nasty foul on him which got a yellow card. It was on his ankle, playing on but suspect it’ll be sore tomorrow.

Amazing watching Ciaran Brodie and Donley celebrating together at the end of the match Ukraine 0-OUFC(nearly) 3 !

That away end in Croatia reminds me of Cuckoo Lane end mid 80s

England 4 up at half time, combination of England being very good and Croatia, who have been punching above their weight for a long time finally looking over the hill.
Modric and Perisic still in their side.
Croatia have been teriffic over the past decade or so, but it appears to be the end of their golden generation

Lack of pace and legs now, happens to all great players and they have had it happen to a few at the same time without similar to replace them. Given their population though they have had an incredible run, pound for pound they were the number one team in the world for me.
