Current Player Injured Players

There's more of it, I do find it all a bit "try hard" though. It's not embarrassing as such because all clubs have to play this game these days but it's a bit cloying at times
You surely agree though that the quality of content far surpasses what we had when Chris Williams was here, no?

Nothing against the guy of course but I much prefer what we currently get dished up

Social media video content yes. Basics and written content not so much. Beneath it all the graphic design and visual identity is random and sloppy.

Really?? As someone who has worked in graphic design, I think the club have done a good job at establishing a visual identity (albeit one that changes in design each season, but is generally consistent throughout). The website itself needs a lot of work on it, but the social media content (particularly short-video format) has been great.

I know older generations (myself included) might prefer them to be top and tailed with a cool club graphic (like you find on the longer content on OUTV/YouTube) but for the younger lot (who are the majority of those using social media) the 1-second scroll time hook is vital, and you need to go straight into the actual video content, else risk them moving on. Arguably you could then put an end graphic onto each video, but that would also get tedious for people watching though multiple videos in a row (e.g. match-day Instagram stories with graphics at the end of each one would have people skipping onto the next person's story as opposed to watching the following OUFC story post).

The graphics this season are a huge step forward from last year - those player portraits that looked like they'd been wiped with a dirty rag were just dreadful. It does however always hurt my designer's eye when the yellow/orange and blue on the scoreboard are so different to the yellow and blue of the strip! Pick a colour and stick to it is a pretty basic rule of corporate identity. I must admit I don't really bother with Twitter or Instagram at all though, so can't comment on what the graphics are like on there.

I do agree that the written content is still a bit lacking. And I do genuinely miss the 'I am an employee but you all know I am also a supporter' warmth that Chris Williams brought to things.

Tend to agree with the highlighted bit.

I think a lot of the social media video stuff is much more aimed at a younger demographic, which is fair enough these are the next generation of fans. Personally I find a lot of it quite juvenile for want of a better word.

Chris had/has a tremendous amount of knowledge and history re OUFC, which often came through in his writing, that was alway going to be difficult to replace.

Apologies if I've missed this amongst all the chatter, but is there any news on the injured players?

I'm starting to get a little concerned as to the status of Cameron Brannagans injury. No news when it comes to OUFC is usually not good news in my experience.

Edit: Just checked and there is nothing on the Official Site.

Yeah the club really isn't great at this sort of communication these days

With all the ins and out over the past few months, the one thing that disappointed me was Chris leaving. If anyone should be here enjoying the feel good factor at the club, it is Chris Williams.

Not sure he'd be enjoying the off field issues like the website/ticketing etc.

But you now have Martin Brodesky doing the match report and you can't get more involved than the club historian and prog. editor.

Personally I'm OK with the club not giving out too much information about injuries. Why let Liam Manning know if Cam is fit or not? Keep him guessing
That would be the case whoever we are playing-you have to take absolutely any advantage in this lge

Absolutely. Not sure if anybody couod have complaints on the programme, match reports etc, as Martin does these.

Matt Phillips is back in contention this weekend, while Przemyslaw Placheta is set to be out for another two to three weeks.

Hidde ter Avest and Kyle Edwards are also available to Buckingham, who said: “They’ve been building and working slowly, but when you haven’t got the cup games to put them into, it’s making sure when we put them into the squad or on the pitch, that they’re ready for what the Championship brings.

Sounds like Cam going for another scan, no news on Goodwin..

I completely missed at the time the news about Placheta being out. What is his actual injury?

I can’t understand why all the delay on news from Goodwin. It must be over nine months since we signed him and he’s barely played
