What are the latest updates on our absentees - Goodwin etc . When you look at our bench on Saturday and then add on our injured players , how things have changed big time.
The only thing missing Saturday was a second goal so that I could relax. COYY

...plus Ter aveste and ferdinan, who are both still getting up to championship match fitness ( I know the latter played in his international side, but reports from our new star poster vcool suggested he wasn't at peak fitness yet

I mentioned in the match day thread - but as I entered the stadium on Saturday Edwards and ter Avest were doing laps of the pitch. Jerome mentioned after the game on the radio that Edwards could arguably have been considered for selection (and will certainly be in contention imminently) - so stands to reason ter Avest will be too.

Wasn’t ’October at earliest’ mentioned for Goodwin? Must admit it’s been very quiet around Matt P & Placheta

There's more of it, I do find it all a bit "try hard" though. It's not embarrassing as such because all clubs have to play this game these days but it's a bit cloying at times
Fair enough. I just like that it will appeal to slightly younger demographics than the previous content!

You surely agree though that the quality of content far surpasses what we had when Chris Williams was here, no?

Nothing against the guy of course but I much prefer what we currently get dished up

Social media video content yes. Basics and written content not so much. Beneath it all the graphic design and visual identity is random and sloppy.
Really?? As someone who has worked in graphic design, I think the club have done a good job at establishing a visual identity (albeit one that changes in design each season, but is generally consistent throughout). The website itself needs a lot of work on it, but the social media content (particularly short-video format) has been great.

I know older generations (myself included) might prefer them to be top and tailed with a cool club graphic (like you find on the longer content on OUTV/YouTube) but for the younger lot (who are the majority of those using social media) the 1-second scroll time hook is vital, and you need to go straight into the actual video content, else risk them moving on. Arguably you could then put an end graphic onto each video, but that would also get tedious for people watching though multiple videos in a row (e.g. match-day Instagram stories with graphics at the end of each one would have people skipping onto the next person's story as opposed to watching the following OUFC story post).

The graphics this season are a huge step forward from last year - those player portraits that looked like they'd been wiped with a dirty rag were just dreadful. It does however always hurt my designer's eye when the yellow/orange and blue on the scoreboard are so different to the yellow and blue of the strip! Pick a colour and stick to it is a pretty basic rule of corporate identity. I must admit I don't really bother with Twitter or Instagram at all though, so can't comment on what the graphics are like on there.

I do agree that the written content is still a bit lacking. And I do genuinely miss the 'I am an employee but you all know I am also a supporter' warmth that Chris Williams brought to things.

Tend to agree with the highlighted bit.

I think a lot of the social media video stuff is much more aimed at a younger demographic, which is fair enough these are the next generation of fans. Personally I find a lot of it quite juvenile for want of a better word.

Chris had/has a tremendous amount of knowledge and history re OUFC, which often came through in his writing, that was alway going to be difficult to replace.

Apologies if I've missed this amongst all the chatter, but is there any news on the injured players?

I'm starting to get a little concerned as to the status of Cameron Brannagans injury. No news when it comes to OUFC is usually not good news in my experience.

Edit: Just checked and there is nothing on the Official Site.
