I reckon we need a few more million to keep up that 0.1% GDP growth.

I blame the billionaires. Not Soros obviously. The other ones.

It's interesting how the terms asylum seeker, refugee and migration are so egregiously conflated.
 
Around 18% of the UK population were born overseas. Around 16% of those in receipt of Universal Credit were born overseas. So its entirely proportionate.

And none of this takes into account how long someone has lived in the UK, or how much they've previously contributed. Approximately 800,000 claimants are from the EU who historically make net positive contributions to the UK economy.

But that will be lost in the "come here on boats and get a free house" lot.
 
Maybe there are too many people claiming from a pot that those who work and don`t claim can`t top up fast enough?

Maybe there are too many people claiming from a pot they have never contributed too?

Maybe there are too many people using public services and facilities they have not helped fund.

Minimum 5 years of paying in before you are allowed to take anything out should fix it. :)

And maybe the vast majority of those are White British. Does your 5 years of paying in apply to them too?

Applies to everyone.................. nothing in = nothing out.*

*chronic/life limiting disabilities exempt.

And if you do start to claim after the qualifying period that would be limited as well.

If the state keeps rewarding people for bumbling along then they have little motivation to improve their lot.

The ways in which left wing people find new ways to bury their heads in the sand are fascinating.

The average British person is pro immigration but, unsurprisingly, opposed to the mass movement of people from antithetical cultures which replaces the native population.

Describing what's happened in the last 30 years as immigration understates it. It's a replacement level of migration pretty much unprecedented in European history.

Always comes down to "white British people do bad stuff too!" "You're a racist if you believe X Y or Z sensible thing"

It's a societal issue not just YF. Only way to beat these types is at the ballot box. But if you vote Tory you'll only get served up the same shite again.

As Kemi put it "we talked right and governed left". Not her fault but not exactly a vote winning statement. The establishment parties will never do anything to stop whats happening. I have my doubts even about Reform.

Who cares. Let them pontificate and deflect. The left allying themselves with the dark forces always ends badly in pretty much all of human history.

At the end of the day this forum is fun for OUFC but politically irrelevant. What absolutely matters is making sure the left are kept out at the next election. Whatever it takes must be done.

The very people that "talked right, governed left" to appease the middle ground?

The days of Left & Right are long gone, its all about the middle as peoples quality of life has improved, income improved etc etc they become far more centrist.
