Nobody is excusing the criminal actions of a minuscule number of those who arrive by these means.
Nobody thinks people arriving by these means is OK, either.

It's a shame that the same level of shock isn't leveled against ALL such crimes which are equally repugnant, regardless of what the perpetrator looks like, or where they come from. Why is that, I wonder?

Well I wasn`t the only one voting Tory............ its why they won for 14 years.

I wasn`t the only one who voted for Brexit............ the majority did.

The overwhelming majority of the illegal arrivals are going to disappear into a murky underworld of crime, cash and exploitation and that is the appeal to those impressionable young men.

Our local plod are arresting people of "no fixed address" on a daily basis for dealing, theft, assault, etc etc.......... that NFA is, invariably, a hotel/apartment place on Vaughan Way. Sub-letting of food delivery rounds, sub-letting/driver swapping of Ubers & Taxis is rife.

Just because you may not see it from your front door doesn`t mean it isn`t happening.

Apply legally or you aren`t coming in works well for a lot of countries across the globe. 🤷‍♂️

Well done @Essexyellows - this is some progress!

. . . . in as much as you realise you were wrong (along with millions of others - not you alone of course ;) ) to enable the omnishambles of Brexit and 14 ruinous years of Conservative government that will take many years to put right. I can only think that the reasons for voting for such self harm over such an extended period would be either extremely poor judgement, naivety, gullibility, a lack of any real moral fibre, or putting self interest above any concern for what's best for wider society (or any combination of these factors).

For every "altercation" or encounter that the Police have with individuals that you are clearly labelling as illegal immigrants, there will be many, many times more "interactions" with paid up, legal UK citizens (and people who have come here legally) who will take up the majority of policing resource. All the offences you mention above are committed many multiple times over by toerags with a UK passport/born right here in dear old blighty, or here with the blessing of the UK government. As I'm sure you already know, there is no official breakdown of crime statistics based on immigration status (https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/tran...oi/crimebynationalityandimmigrationstatus2025). However, national crime statistic do not show that all the crimes you mention are on the rise. In fact, if you look at long term crime trends (the last 20 years), theft, violence with or without injury, computer misuse, criminal damage and homicide are all down. Fraud and knife crime are both up long term (although knife enabled crime is down 10% between 2024 and 2025 figures), and we know that knife crime in particular is a wider societal problem (and the vast majority of reports are tragically teen and gang-related). One element I do agree with you on is that vulnerable people (with or without UK passports) are often attracted to or sucked into criminal behaviour because of sheer desperation for something to improve their lot.

IF you want to change this behaviour, is it more effective to go after the low level perps or do you focus more of your resources on dismantling the criminal organisations that exploit the desperate individuals? And how do you change the mindset of the individual who thinks it is their best option to get on in life, because they see so little opportunity to make a legitimate contribution to a society that they feel completely disconnected from?

And nobody can argue with the sentiment of only allowing legal migration to occur - I think everyone would agree with that. But expecting a throw away sentence to form the basis of a policy to manage an extremely complex, multi-national, multi-faceted problem is . . . naive at best. Dealing with this effectively (as I and many others have said, many, many times before) will take huge effort and resource and require multi-national cooperation on multiple fronts to even get close to resolving, or at least improving.

But I guess it's just easier to come out with glib, tough-sounding throwaway one liners that offer some comfort, satisfy conscious/unconscious biases, require little brain power and the illusion of a solution🤷‍♂️

there is no current process for applying for asylum from a different country. other countries have that.

Maybe there will be a change in the rules in the future.
In the meantime stay in whichever safe country they are in.
If they do change then apply, if they don`t......... they don`t.

Some call it simplistic but it works for a lot of countries around the globe.

Absolutely if you post you get nothing but abuse ,like one or two of is lefty socialist friends when the country is on its knees and the trouble is kicking wont be seen. Funny how they all blame Brexit and one of the EU ,Donald Tusk is pm of Poland who don't entertain Immigration funny that. But waiting for more abuse 🤣🤣🤣

Your choices are have a skin like a rhino-hide like EY or BW or be belittled and accused of being a racist by smug people who have won from globalisation.

If they want to be happy about mass migration, illegal immigration, imply it's either not a problem or is impossible to fix, and that this country and continent isn't on the precipice of major consequences, then good luck to them. I guess they can score "I'm a good guy" points and be retired or dead before they're truly proven wrong.

Not many on here will even admit the problems yet alone be willing to find solutions. "they want to take away my human rights". If you think what pretty much every normal human thought before about 1997 these days you're labelled 'far-right', it's madness.

My advice to you is stick to football on here or don't post. But the football, that might not be fun to post about either :(
