Yep that's a perfectly fair point - it's just for most communities (including the royals, Americans, and even Swindon fans), the days of marrying or sleeping with their first cousins are now ancient history. We're talking about something happening right now, quite a lot, in Bradford of all places.

I found the whole article fascinating. Read the whole thing, and point me at any part of it that isn't interesting!

Who said anything about racial divides?

We have imported more people in my lifetime than at any other time in our history.
Those people are not integrating in the same way that the Windrush generation did, or as the Ugandan Asians did, they both continued their own cultures but "slotted in" with British culture, we are a nation of migrants after all.

The many recent arrivals have, and are, changing Britain and its not for the better.
 
The only people calling it an invasion are those looking to either divert attention away from or seek justification for their own dismal contribution to society.

Plenty of room in this country for people wanting a better life, but too few people have way too much money. Easiest way out is to blame immigrants and hoodwink susceptible people into thinking the presence of immigrants is a threat rather than an opportunity.

We're not talking about people earning six-figure salaries here. We're talking people with more money than they, their kids and their kids will ever know what to do with but use every trick in the book to keep hold of every last penny. How dare they try and tell people struggling to get by that all their problems are caused by small boats and working remotely, as if they chose whose fanny they fell out of.

And yes, if you dossed about at a young age and didn't get enough of an education to spare you from a s**t job that anybody coming into this country could do, that's your lookout really - not somebody else's fault if they want to come here and take advantage of the opportunity you squandered.

So because in your opinion billionaires aren't paying enough tax that means net immigration should run in the hundreds of thousands and beyond year after year?

OK, let's debate like adults. Let's deep-dive into that Sadiq Khan thing. I spent a few minutes finding out about it. It turns out - surprise surprise - that it's a complete nothingburger.

The picture and caption came from the mayor's office website at least three years ago, but weren't written by Sadiq Khan. They were part of some rather worthy brand guidelines and were intended to remind other council staff that, when choosing stock photos for publicity materials, they shouldn't always use pictures of smiling white nuclear families, since that wouldn't be representative of the London population.

That's it. That's literally all there is. That's your smoking gun.

Of course then someone - presumably some cynical bin-dipper from a tabloid newspaper - came across it, and twisted it, and presented it out of context. Because that's what they're paid to do: find something innocuous and bend it into ragebait for culture warriors. Because they know that the people it's aimed at will never, ever, fact-check anything that confirms their prejudices. And, as night follows day, the rest of the gutter press churnalised it, social media Chinese-whispered it, and opportunistic political hacks like Susan Hall jumped all over it too.

So "an office underling suggested that you shouldn't automatically choose pictures of white families in official leaflets" has become "Sadiq Khan is a white-hating racist".

It's pathetic. It would be funny if it wasn't so effective.

He's then rounding back to cover off non rich people, who (if against immigration) should have worked harder at school, and it's your fault, you silly little uneducated oik. You've got no say.

I'm not talking about class here. I'm talking about the general failure of people to see the root cause of the 'problem'. You're being told to be angry at immigration by a group of people to whom immigration matters not one iota... because they want to deflect attention away from their own greed being a drain on the economy, and, more importantly, gain power to deregulate and make themselves even wealthier using nationalism as a vote-winner among xenophobes and people thinking life owes them a living.

How much combined tax 'the immigrants' (not sure what we mean by that) pay net is irrelevant. What the difference is between what is paid and taken out much more relevant.

And even if it put a tiny boost on our GDP (whilst GDP per capita is falling) is that worth completely replacing the British working class population in a matter of two generations for?

I guess lots of posters on here simply don't care about it. And that's fair enough I suppose.

But if life doesn’t owe someone who dossed at school a living it doesn’t owe someone who rocks up on a boat thousands of miles from home one either? Taking advantage of our country’s infrastructure rather than building up there own.

I am not “angry” about immigration, I just don’t think large scale immigration from third world countries helps this one out much, you need to say I am emotional about it and being exploited by the rich, to stupid to understand an argument for the type of immigration we have seen over the last 10 years that you haven’t actually made, beyond saying there is plenty of room for everyone.

Did you actually watch the video I attached?

Explain to me a workable plan for how we can tax billionaires what you consider to be a fair amount?

Explain to me how this would heal all the issues caused by 30 years of never seen before mass migration unprecented in the entirety of British history?
 
Let's be honest ,most migrants are net contributers ,these leftys can't see what's coming .Blame the billionaires that might pay there tax outside the country but create the wealth through the companies they run .They are probably employed by billionaires ,but wait are they contributing or just take ,take ,take.
