International News Immigration

I am capable of noticing patterns and interpreting data. If that's being played, fine.

I can actually accept that some of what people say on here has merit (even if I think it's difficult to implement), but if you don't think mass immigration is decreasing the quality of life for the average person in this country whilst benefitting the super rich I think you're burying your head in the sand.
It might be A factor, but the overall impact of it is a moot point.

For my money, the way the super-rich act towards suppression of wages and workers rights, regardless of immigration, is a far bigger factor. They have the power, they have the influence . . immigrants don't.
In addition, ripping the guts out of the very public services that are there to IMPROVE quality of life (for those that need it most) in the name of "austerity" has also had a far greater impact. Simply thinking the status quo was being preserved prior to bonkers levels of immigration being approved by the Tories . . . . and it's only because of immigrants that it has all gone tits up is disingenuous at best. When you destroy already stretched public services, that's going to impact everyone anyway - then to add even more pressure through bonkers immigration and what did people think would happen?

You are interpreting the data you are being fed from articles that are telling why the data proves everything is so awful. It might be a factor, but to be so angry about it as the main factor is not seeing the bigger picture. To be so angry about it as the be all and end all of problems in this country, that you and millions of others are preparing to push the political nuclear button and let a narcissistic populist who is in it for his own ends and nobody elses, is an extremely dangerous game to play

You are also using your own (limited) experience of your own life as a barometer for how the world really is. That's your experience and yours alone.

If you believe the super rich control policy and have the power (which I don't necessarily disagree with) ask yourself why they have allowed mass immigration to happen.

This is basic economics. Supply and demand. If the demand increases massively they can charge extortionate rents.
If there is a huge supply of Labour why would they need to offer good wages? If you quit there are 100 people waiting to do your job. This puts the worker in a bad situation and the employer has all the power.

I'm sure the super rich are also aware importing people who put their religion above the state will cause inevitable issues and divide the working class along ethno-religious lines.

Of course the left wing answer to this is always regulation. Regulation doesn't work. There are plenty of people living in illegal living conditions in London and being paid under minimum wage by unscrupulous landlords and companies who ignore regulation.

The huge pool of low income labour is driving living standards down for the working class.

Sometimes I think we aren't too far away from each other Sheik, some of what you say does have merit, but I don't understand how you can't see mass immigration has been disastrous for the british working class.

Facts have always been inconvenient to the left.
Some people want to attack the sources rather than entertain the fact the data is true because it is contrary to their worldview.

I am capable of accepting the data that the super rich are growing their wealth and that something needs to be done about that in some way, but others won't accept data and evidence which shows the impact of mass immigration.

It's always deflection, whataboutism, idealism, intellectualism etc in defence.

Just because you admit mass migration has been damaging wouldn't have to mean one was right wing, anti-immigrant or any kind of slur. It just means you understand economics and society.

No, that's a simplistic and dismissive. People attack the sources because what you call 'facts' can be distorted by lack of context, misquoting, or simply the sources applying their own bias or importance to them. Getting views from a range of sources is always important. Just because it is on GB News, you can't take it as 'fact', much as just because it is on BBC News, I can't take it as 'fact'.

An example, you posted a GB News link saying something like '80% of transport arrests are migrants' (I'm paraphrasing). The first thing I did was search and see if I could find a range of news sources that were reporting the same thing.

You are never going to find a wide range of news sources speaking about migrant crime because it's a taboo subject.

Well if you make such a strong case then he must be.
I'm pleased to see you have been won over by my many, many, many posts on here and that I don't have to repeat myself again. It's the kind of response that keeps me posting! Thank you.

No amount of evidence presented will ever make you believe mass immigration isn't one of the biggest problems this country faces.

You're not open to the idea because it would contradict such a long held worldview.

The "big" social media is a toxin for humanity.

I've started to re-read 1984 having not read it for about 20 years. More relevant today than ever before.

But what I took most from it was the Two Minute Hate that was put out every day to stoke up anger and control the people.

Now, through social media, we are seeing some people spending hours looking at rage baiting posts filled with hate and anger. This is very deliberately being done and is targeted at those who are more susceptible and vulnerable.

We agree.

Having seen the growth in internet interaction, sorry kids I`m going back to dial up modems and a price per minute on your phone bill, we have gone to "100% connected 24/7/365" and that isn`t good for anyone,

Big Social Media is the new religion............ and we have experience of how that pans out.

Starmer will block most of our access soon so not to worry.

Why was this American ‘asylum seeker’ not removed from the UK when his application was refused last summer?

Astonishingly diverse video.
Only Christian countries inhabited by mostly white people have a responsibility to be diverse.

The wests obsession with diversity is bizarre. If France win a world cup people say it's a victory for multiculturalism but no one would say if Croatia won a world cup it was a "victory for monoculturalism"

Absolutely she should be representing our that's English, British values ,Christianity and our cultures , its become a joke ,

So what are you saying, that the things people complain about we shouldn't because we are just being rage baited?

I object to what is happening in my country. I'd rather know what was going on that live in blissful ignorance .

Far from it - I think @Scotchegg s suggestion is that you select your news/opinion sources carefully and broadly.

Bad news (aka Rage Bait) makes headlines, generates clicks, shares, creates traction etc etc.

Calm, factual reporting doesn`t.

I`ll happily take news from Al Jazeera as well as the BBC - in fact any source that is supported by well reasoned, verifiable reporting.

Even now the visual world of media is heading into a chasm with AI masquerading as "news".

Scotch is being priggish here, social media has given us access to news and stories the mainstream media would rather keep people in the dark about.

Last year there was a load of “news” about how disgraceful it was that Ismail couldn’t speak English, accompanied by a torrent of raged indignation.
Of course it turned out to be complete b*****s.

She should be more concerned with the people of Rotherham than "muslim women".

Wonder how many christians hold power in Pakistan? Imagine if I was mayor or Hyderabad and said "I am representing White Christian men, and my English people, I'm proud to be wearing a Fred Perry t-shirt, wherever I go I'll represent English men"
It's so farcical to imagine it's beyond belief.

Perhaps she can represent both the people of Rotherham AND Muslim women? Or can you only represent one subset of people at a time?

The rest of your post is irrelevant to anything.

I don't believe it is irrelevant, in no countries outside of the west could you realistically take the p**s out of the system so much.
