Ifollow audio quality

Is anybody else getting some seriously messed up audio from Ifollow? Everything is very crackly and inaudible for me.

Watched the Barnsley game in France and to be honest I didn't think there was commentary with it until the second half when I could hear the faint sound of Jerome and Nick, turned it up to max and just about heard them. I assume your talking about the audio only commentary either way it sounds a bit crap.

I'm sure I've seen others with issues complain to club on Twitter. Possibly a local device or browser issue, as mine has always been ok. That said, radio Ox commentary on ifollow is considerably lower quality than the BBC radio player. Also, I wish Chris Williams would go and spend a measly 50 quid on a Rode mic for his interviews.

I've fed back to them that the audio on app is still crap..the sound recording is poor with background hiss but louder on laptop at least

Have you checked if any updates are available to your app? This issue was acknowledged and fixed with an update to a different video player.

Still an ongoing problem on android app. For some people putting headphones in makes it audible. Club and I follow both know of the issue.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's already using a rode mic. The one that he looks to be using comes with a grip that, if you hold it, it makes those knocking sounds you hear. Ideally you'd attach that grip to a boom pole and have a sound recordist catching the sound from above, getting a broader range, and ideally, not getting the knocking sounds.

I do think the quality of the ifollow content has been suspect for years, they probably need to get in a crew to produce quality content worth subscribing for.

Yeah I’ve had an issue with iFollow sound for a few weeks - using the app on iPhone. Works fine on laptop, and using headphones on my phone - but without headphones the audio is just scrambled, static noise. Very odd

Not being a user, so far, of iFollow..... couple of Questions for those that have/use iFollow - how much does it cost?.... - is it value for money?.....presumably iFollow requires wifi or broadband?

Also a general type question too - given that most have a license to 'use' BBC, why does live match coverage stop for matches on digital radio, yet if your 'in range' it is possible to pick up non digital live coverage for live matches on BBC radio Oxford?

BBc radio Oxford has quite a wide broadcast range (non digital)... from M32 along to J10 M4, M40 - J3 - J14, A43 almost as far as Northampton, A34 just beyond Winchester for example,

Having to sometimes work on matchdays - its a real mission trying to keep up with how the U's are doing in real time, without any/ or very unstable internet access:cautious:

I’ve been in touch with iFollow about the faulty sound quality on videos on the app for the last ten days. I’m now intensely irritated by their constant assurances that they’re “working on it” and equally constant requests for “patience”.

Niall McWilliams told me at the weekend that he’d help sort it out. I’m sure he’s tried, but it’s obviously been to no avail.

Pathetic service from iFollow and obvious contempt for their customers.

I think the reason it isn't on digital is due to the I Follow/FL contract.
Don't think I'll be buying into iFollow....especially with shaun Harvey/ efl involved, no wonder its shonky& a poor at best service! Harvey couldnt arrange a successful drinking session in an alehouse with its own micro brewery on site, nevermind a relatively straightforward co_ordination of (bbc local radio )commentary and live match footage....the mans a crook, rapscallion and nerdowell....pay me bbc license only for him to steal approx 100 mins of live access to bbcradio oxford (which ive paid to recieve) every time my team plays..... Harvey= thief imo

Working ok for me, although the commentary issue is a nuisance at the moment, I'm sure it will be sorted out soon. Its £130 for the season which is about £5, or there abouts, per game. Bargain.
