Brannagan has been absolutely awful tonight.

[RgYellows]

Problem is helik is too slow and would have been undone also. It's a bad night unfortunately

Yes how you could watch Taylor breeze pass Long with his pace and think Helik might be the answer, is a bit beyond me.

[uptheus]

This is going to be a long 4 months! And that’s if we’re out of the embargo by then!

[Older Shotts]

Cams passing and free kicks have been very poor

And Not just this season either…

[Sarge]

7 mins to go - cmon Oxford get 2

[Oxford84]

Preston 3-1 down! wankers.

[greatunclekip]

We are not very good are we? What a shocking performance. For all of Ramseys good soundbites, he’s coached an absolute shitter there. Made Joe Taylor look like prime Matty Taylor.

[Swaby39]

Long's not a centre half. It's simply a reflection of where we are right now.

Doesn’t matter where you play him. Heroic figure, but he’s got this kind of performance in him. Taylor has had a field day behind him which may not have been much better with Helik but at least he and Brown have history of a good partnership and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Helik have a game this bad in possession. The struggle from set pieces is also much more apparent.

Helik is a lot less likely to be out of position than long is. Helik also doesn't try and play overly ambitious passes out of defence.

[Older Shotts]

We controlled the first half, although didn’t do much with the ball. Second half has been shambolic.

[QR]

They are Argentina in disguise.

[Leysboy]

Brannagan has been firing balls out of play all night. Awful/Dross

He’s not exempt from criticism from me.

[Oxfordpete]

Williams must start next game looks really useful

[Last_man]

How do we have so much of the ball yet do so little its not good enough

[uptheus]

?

[OtteryYellow]

Lots of positives, great commitment, great to see academy doing well, team spirit looking and a great entertainment second half despite the obvious.

I think we will win more than we lose this season.

Centre of defence obviously a huge concern, not really sure why helik left out bloody hope he hasn't had his clause triggered as then it will be a long season

[Older Shotts]

Our side this season would get absolutely tonked by a prime Robinson side.

[southcoastyellow]

Sam long been very poor tonight

[Sarge]

Taylor- shithouse

[RagingBull]

Tim?

[Leysboy]

We mess around with it at the back too much.

That’s all well and good, but you need players that can play that way.

[EastStandKieran]

Our defence is all over the place.. Huddersfield weren't better than us just more clinical

[OtteryYellow]

Yes how you could watch Taylor breeze pass Long with his pace and think Helik might be the answer, is a bit beyond me.

Because it's also about positioning, you don't necessarily have to be quick

[Sutton Yellow]

The senior players have been the concern tonight.

Branagan, Brown, Long, Spencer, Dembele, Currie.

Too many individual errors.

I don’t understand this point. Long wasn’t out of position relative to the defensive line or Moore. He was just beaten for pace. Would you play Helik 15 yards behind the last defender?

[McXal]

When you take a step back, we’ve barely been able to sign anyone…and this is a squad without Roosken, Jin-Woo, Cumming, Emakhu, BDK & Leigh. SIX players who appeared for us in the Championship last season.

Unfortunately it’s unrealistic to expect us to compete at the top end of the table against the promotion chasing teams with that many players out. As someone pointed out earlier in the thread - to be successful this season (to January at least) we need to get really lucky with injuries. We simply haven’t got lucky at all in that regard.

The longer this game has gone on the more our naivety and brutal lack of squad depth has been exposed. We will have more days/games like this until January I suspect.

[androidyellow2]

Think we've struggled since McDonell went off. Was breaking Huddersfield down nicely

[Tobytrotters]

Considering it's the same four that made a decent go of it in the champ last season, our defence has looked really poor tonight

They didn’t make a decent go of it last season! FFS what have you been watching

[holdsteady]

HMS Mid-table setting sail.

1 win
1 loss
1 draw

3 unconvincing performances.

I’m will take that mid table position now if you are offering it.
