How far away from Oxford do you live?

9045 miles in Perth. Been to 3 games in the last 4 years (my son was mascot for one - the only oxford supporting 10 year old in Western Australia). Ifollow (in this seasons incarnation) and YF are good. I like it at the start and end of the season as kick off time is 10pm on a Saturday. Less convenient when the clocks change. Glad to see that Jon-iou and my “campaign” last season to get commentary on the vision seems to have paid off.
There is now a two week old Yellow in Banjup mate, my new grandson! ?

congrats for two weeks ago @Oldham :)....... get em following the right team from birth, thats the way to do it .... both my grandsons
are in Northern Ireland , the eldest has been to a few U's games, the younger one has yet to go to a live game...... course, it isnt easy ensuring grandkids do follow the right team....some of their other grand parents have an (odd) affiliation to Chelski , which means my gransons may have Chelski replica shirts bought for them, but, they're unlikely to ever go to a first team match at Stamford bridge! ..... next time my daughter n the boys are over in Oxford , if their visit coincides with a U's home game, itll be an expensive day out with 'em for me ( club shop visit, as well as matchday expenses, and a visit pre match to The 'bird), all worth it though .... and, obviously a priceless experience for the boys :)

Will the grandkids find the menu at the 'bird to their tastes?

Surrey/Hants border, having grown up in Oxford. My kids (grown up) are all yellow through and through.

I may get shouted at for this but I have actively got the kids interested in going to support Chester. The 3 year old loves going to the deva. They have Oxford kits but have yet to go to a game.
I’m a big believer in supporting your local team so rather than support Liverpool, Everton or tranmere I’d rather they supported Chester.

No problem with that at all. Tell them that Chester is their non-league team, Oxford their proper team.

Introduce them to Quince is an essential.
An absolute must that is ....as it happens, where I am currently ( South Somerset) there is a Quince tree with one solitary Quince fruit on it ! ...I will try to provide photographic evidence ( it may take a while!) :sneaky:

We have a Quince Tree, grandparents used to make homemade Quince wine with it which was nice to drink (but lethal). We had 3 fruit last year but nothing for a few years before or this year. It doesn't help that it has been swamped by a Cotoneaster but the Bees/Wasps/Butterflies etc love that so I don't want to cut it back too much.

I live 161 miles (3 hours 5 minutes) from the Kassam, in the Socialist paradise of Lincolnshire where we don’t like immigrants but haven’t yet worked out how we’re going to get our veg picked if they all go home.
Im up in your neck of the woods tomorrow @Pete Burrett ...avoiding Horncastle though as I'm told roadworks on going there make the Oxford roadworks seem minimal in comparison ?

As StokeU lives 10 years in the past, how many years in the past do you live in Lincolnshire? :)

P

yes @Sarge I believe the A158 near Horncastle is a bit of a pig just now!
Morton's media group in Horncastle often give me work commissions, as I'm heading to the East coast (skegness) tomorrow, I was tipped off to avoid A128 Horncastle this weekend

364 miles for me from sunny Edinburgh. But I suspect there’s a more northernly Yellow on here.
