With Sam on the bench theres cover right across the back 4I've liked him at CB, the cup against Peterborough I thought he looked good there
Anderson could tackle, he just went on walk about and then lost the ball with alarming regularity. He doesn’t seem to be playing, not sure if he’s looking or just retiredOur third Dutch Right Back in the last ten years! Will he be any better than Dwight Tiendalli, or Djavan Anderson? If he can run without limping, then he'll be better than Tiendalli. And if he can actually tackle, then he'll be one up on Anderson. Does anyone know what happened to them? I'm pretty sure that Tiendalli never 'played' again after lumbering around the pitch for us. Anderson wasn't very good but he wasn't terrible, but also doesn't appear to have played again.
Anderson wasn't terrible. I'd be surprised if he can't find another club. Tiendalli was the worst player I have seen turn out for us since we got back in the league. I think (?) he was a Pep signing.Anderson could tackle, he just went on walk about and then lost the ball with alarming regularity. Anderson was excellent and a level above what we had at the time. People focus on a goal conceded against Wycombe when he was left isolated and then hung out to dry by Robinson but regularly ignore that by far our best spell of the season came with him as right back and he defended Martinelli brilliantly when we played Arsenal. Just seems he doesn't really have the motivation now.Our third Dutch Right Back in the last ten years! Will he be any better than Dwight Tiendalli, or Djavan Anderson? Long is and always will be a better Centre Back than Right Back. Having two quality options competing at right back is an excellent place to be in, and it frees up Sam to return to his better position at centre halfSlightly bemused by this, I have to say. It’s obviously not binary, but I’m surprised, with a week of the window left and the obvious holes in the squad still being a winger, perhaps another ST and perhaps another CB, that we’ve focussed our efforts on signing another RB.
Where does this leave Kioso? Long was arguably MOTM v Norwich. Didn’t catch Friday and haven’t read into it at all, but surely he can’t have played badly enough to negate his performance v Norwich and leave us prioritising a starting (or backup) RB at this stage in the window.
I’m sure the guy’s great, and wish him every success, but it does seem weird given the Kioso signing.
I would say des doesn't fancy kioso and this signing reflects that. We have reasonable cover at CB but agree a solid 10 goal ST would almost guarantee at least survival.Slightly bemused by this, I have to say. Interested in why you think we focus all our efforts on one player at a time? I hope we have many, many lines out for players on the go, you just don’t know which ones will bite when and then you have to land them, but the other lines are still in the water while that is going onSlightly bemused by this, I have to say. Perhaps the lack of CB comes from difficulty in securing one, and therefore Long would be required more centrally?Slightly bemused by this, I have to say. Unfortunately @Malc has had an accident and sustained a nasty looking injury to his finger. More here: https://yellowsforum.co.uk/threads/malc-injury.11158/@Malc How do you pronounce his name?!
Looks a decent player, regardless of any facial similarities to theHe kinda reminds me of James Henry if you see 1min 47seconds in![]()
