I can’t remember where I heard it (maybe Behind the Badge) but I believe he was the victim of one or Terry Gordon’s family pranks with the replica gun.
Apparently Carter ran from the ground/training ground, got in his car and drove off. The next time the club hear from him was when he’d got back to London and was saying ‘I’m not signing for them. They’re all mental there!’
He didn’t have the mental fortitude like his namesake seemingly. I bet he couldn’t shoo away a rabbit either.

Yes. He was outstanding in his first game away at Grimsby even though we lost. Was disappointed that we couldn't keep him longer for that spell.
